Re: Official Hot Toys Pirates of the Caribbean Thread

It's a nice paint job, but it really doesn't capture Jack Sparrow at all, Seb's best stuff tends to be on the darker side and I don't think that style suits Jack, if Sparrow were in Star Wars this would be like his Sith evil version.

Re: Official Hot Toys Pirates of the Caribbean Thread

Well, too be honest, it's mostly the way I photographed and used the flash that makes him look so evil :lol
In reality Seb did a great job at making him seem misschivous, but not really sinister :wave

Re: Official Hot Toys Pirates of the Caribbean Thread

I also think that the way the eyebrows are sculpted and the rictus on the mouth gives him that sinister look.
But like Lord V said it hands it doesn't look that sinister.

Re: Official Hot Toys Pirates of the Caribbean Thread

OMG! A new home away from home!
I've been over at the "Pirates4 On Stranger Tides Figures"...Any guesses when? thread, and wondering WHY it didn't have that many replies. Now I know, because everybody is HERE!
Thanks lerath666!

I had the SS Jack reserved but had to cancel it on the 5th, because I wanted the JASON Terror at Crystal Lake and I couldn't afford both. Should I have kept the Jack Sparrow reservation instead??

Not too keen on the head - but the weathering on the coat and wasitecoat looks lovely. Love the Medi coat its tailored very well and fits the HT body nicely.

Re: Official Hot Toys Pirates of the Caribbean Thread

Thing I admire most in that shot is the crow's nest for him to stand on, well made and a nice display option. I've often thought of doing something like that, but where I'm not a craftsman by nature, it'd take a lot of time and work and so I just haven't committed to doing it.

Re: Official Hot Toys Pirates of the Caribbean Thread

Some interesting things to note from that video.

- Jack now has 2 pistols, at least for the clip
- Jack has an "x" looking scar on his right cheek under his eye
- Hair changes

While this Jack is close enough to the trilogy look, I'm kind of hoping now that we get a DX Jack from the 3 and not based on the new movie.

Doesn't he also have a beard that runs all the way around his jawline this time?

Nope, just the same old chin strap along the jawline, except on the right side where he has that weird mark just past his goatee.

Re: Official Hot Toys Pirates of the Caribbean Thread

I kinda mixed a few things I liked from the trilogy. I liked the lighter pants from CotBP, and I also liked the belts from the other two.

Its a medicom hat.

Re: Official Hot Toys Pirates of the Caribbean Thread

I would love to get that smirking head from the Cannibal Jack for my AWE Sparrow but they go for so much. I don't want to pay $220+ for a headsculpt. I would love to see a new Jack.

Re: Official Hot Toys Pirates of the Caribbean Thread

I wish I could find a JS AWE or Cannibal Jack for a reasonable price but I can't wait until they make another figure for POTC 4

Re: Official Hot Toys Pirates of the Caribbean Thread

Excellent looking Sparrow!!

Can't wait for Hot Toys to eventually reveal a new one, though.

Indeed, if they put him on the slim and do the coat with Medicom's cut and sew but just a proper color and real buttons like the Marcus Wright coat and not the cheap glue on, inaccurrate crap, it could look spectacular, especially with the production weathering they get these days.

Re: Official Hot Toys Pirates of the Caribbean Thread

Not to mention the amazing paint apps that they are doing nowadays, as opposed to the George Hamilton-like deep tan that my Cannibal Jack had... ;)

Re: Official Hot Toys Pirates of the Caribbean Thread

Yup, Jack should end up painted more like John Connor, with true dirt and grim making up his skin and not just a solid color making it look like a natural skin tone that's too dark.

Re: Official Hot Toys Pirates of the Caribbean Thread

hey there, first time posting in this Disney area :rock

I'm thinking on getting the medi jack sparrow yet know the body is shorter, so I'm curious to know if the head would look ok on a TT body and if it is indeed an easy swap to take the head off the medi and onto a TT body?

thanks! :)

Re: Official Hot Toys Pirates of the Caribbean Thread

it won't look any good on a TT.. the head to body ratio would be off.
