They did mention earlier in the day that something was going to go up. I think it was in the podcast or something like that.

You are right. If I recall correctly it was mentioned in the podcast that same day. This was also the night the newsletter became a big deal. Before that night there was no sense of urgency to be here religiously Thursday nights.

There was a fair warning of a whole week for Classic Spidey on a previous newsletter.

It was released with the NL on a Thursday. You had to go to the Green Hulk vs. Spidey Exc. page and the page had a link that said, wouldn't it look good in Grey.

Nice. Wasn't that NL also posted waaay late?

I hope a access code happens to have a "wouldn't it look good in lights" or "chrome".

Not that I recall because I probably would have been online, if so. I got a call from Danny telling me it was up. It took like 20-30 minutes for it to sell out if I remember right.

not to take away from an awesome piece, but i was really hoping for a chrome savage and light up discs. hopefully sideshow can sneak something in for us

Just out of curiousity, when the Grey Hulk Vs. Spidey Dio Ex. came out. Was there any warning or notice given in a newsletter? Or did it just "show up" and travel by word of mouth?

There was a comment in either thew newsletter or podcast the week before, something about a special preordering opportunity for alert fans. Something fairly vague, although it left me (and a few others) waiting for the NL that night because we had a feeling that something was up. And we were right! I wouldn't have looked as closely at the preorder page without the cryptic clue the week before. (And it was up for a while, actually.)

I have always kicked myself for not getting a screen cap of that little link.

Yeah, with this taking so long to sell out, I'm guess we won't be getting an Ex Ex version of this. Sucks, cause I would have loved a really chromed SS or light-up control discs like most people want.

I think it looks great, but I'm not familiar with the source material. Did Hulk time travel back to the days of Roman Gladiators? I don't keep up with comics the way I should.

I wouldn't call it rubbish (unless I was trying to start a fight)! I just think it's a little more meant for the hardcore fans rather than as an iconic piece that everybody would instantly recognize. I don't picture the Hulk as a gladiator, but for those who enjoyed the source material, this is probably a dream come true.

I read the source material and I think Hulk vs. Red King on his armor would have been a better choice.

But...heh...

I will say that whether or not you catch the significance of his costume, there is plenty of quality and detail to be appreciated in the sculpt. Sideshow knows how to give good Hulk.
