I don't know about what the majority wants but i have no need for any of this sharing videos and messages and all the rest with people.

Most of my friends aren't gamers so the people i play with online are strangers.

I think i'll be leaving my friends list empty to avoid all this social media crap.

Not to mention the abuse that will broadcast over it.

always wanted one, just waiting for good exclusive games!

plus a price drop. Maybe they could do a sexy PS4 + Vita bundle

My interest has perked again as i like the idea of using it a a screened controller with touch integration and the collection of games thats amassing and remote play fir when i'm away from home.

My concern for PS4 still remain small controller for my punisher hands. :(

Man, I hope they bring back the PS1 start up sound. :lol

I wish they gave us a choice of which to use in a menu setting.

PS1,2,3 or 4.

Hands on impressions of the DS4 controller from Engadget and IGN:

Engadget said:
More importantly, when we actually played the game, the DualShock 4 felt great. It's light, responsive, and comfortable -- the new thumbsticks with convex tops cradle your thumbs, and the triggers easily hold your pointer fingers. As for the face buttons, things are nigh identical with previous DualShock iterations. The standard ex / triangle / circle / square combo remains, and looks just about the same as on the DualShock 3. Though the touchpad didn't have any in-game effect in DriveClub, the pad is easily clickable and not too far from your thumbs to quickly jump from face buttons to it.

IGN

Critics of the previous design will be happy to know that the company has made significant improvements to the ergonomic feel of the handles, triggers, and shoulder buttons.

As a player with fairly large hands, the previous design felt cramped and small — the DualShock 4 resolves much of these issues. The handles are more rounded and designed in such a way to conform with the palm of your hand as you play. The shoulder buttons and triggers, while not much larger than the previous iteration, feel much more natural by curving with your fingers. Most importantly, the triggers are convex (aka curve inward), which prevent your finger from sliding off as you make fast taps or when holding them down.

That'd be amazing. I'd go with the PS2's startup, I just loved the whooshing sound it made.

I know nothing about the vita touchpad. I watched that video of the robots getting sucked up. Is the touchpad like a laptop touchpad?

New controller looks promising. Appears to have a nicer, fuller shape and softer lines. Sticks look better too. They can keep the touch pad gimmick though. Hopefully, it'll be ignored by most developers. Unfortunately, the first party developers will probably be required to shoe horn some sort of pointless touch pad functionality into their games.

What's all this about limitations and restrictions? And why does PS4 crush Xbox one?

Xbox one epic fail? What?
Every point Sony makes in this video is the exact opposite of each restriction Xbox One has (new restrictions on lending games to others, mandatory internet check-in, don't actually own the physical disk): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2Ht-0Hne4EU

PS4 is following the same model as PS3, where you can play offline whenever you want, as long as you want, give the game to any other person and let that person play offline without restrictions, all just like PS3.

PS4 will apparently allow publishers to have the same online pass as in this generation, meaning you can play used and borrowed games offline, but to go online will require an online pass if the publisher requires it. So no new restrictions there, as opposed to MS, where every game now has a restriction (online check-in) and lending games will now be pretty much impossible. MS has been telling people that if you can't connect to the internet for the check-in, you should just stick with a 360. They literally said this.
