I understand people give a lot of flack to the flippers, but I don't judge people for trying to make some money on statues. Comics are the same way, as are cards and other collectibles.

It's the way it's always been.

That's like... your opinion man.

I judge them. Middlemen like realtors or car dealerships actually have a beneficial purpose. Flippers have none. Remember before Sideshow had their preordering system for SDCC HT exclusives? You had pictures of several blocks full of clueless Chinese people being paid by scalpers/flippers to stand in line and buy limited exclusives to flip to everyone else.

Here, I just did a quick manip.

Imagine this, but done properly.

Yeah this would look much better. Oh well.

Yeah, this happens to everything. Remember in 2006 when the PS3 shortage happened and people were standing online at retailers everywhere to buy one or two. Half those ended up on ebay and sold for 2 to 3 times retail.

Supply and demand, it's part of living in a capitalist society. It's okay for you not to like it, and yes it is my opinion.

Well, I have to say from experience that I am glad that not all Freaks cancel their statues. I am getting my Batman Ex from a Freak who decided to sell it to me for just a little bit above cost. I think that if I ever decided to let something go I had orders I would do the same

I couldn't agree more

No, It still may not. People are very cautious on ebay about scams now. Just because you list something as "pre-order" or "not in hand" it may not sell. So even though you're listing at what can be seen as a good deal on the EX, people may wait until you have it in hand to bid.

I love how every time some one says something your come back with a snide condescending comment by the way.

You mad bro? At least I came on with a possible solution to a boardies problem, not to play debbie downer and shoot down anyone trying to help. I have never seen an EX go for less then retail, but hey I'm sure your smarter then everyone else in the room :1-1:

I guess we'll agree to disagree. I've been in enough conversations on this board to know that I just can't agree with how people look at this hobby or what people consider "dumb" or "smart."

that's fine we can disagree, I guess I just don't understand why someone who enjoys the hobby would rather throw away $30 then help another boardie who enjoys the hobby too. :dunno

and a simple check of Ebay's closed listings show that no one is passing on any Poison Ivy Exclusives that are listed under $600, so I am pretty sure asking retail would get it snapped up in a matter of hours.

Actually, I was telling you why someone would cancel instead of sell. I didn't down anyone, of course you again have to be snide. Which is fine, I get that you have a personality quirk that doesn't allow you to have a conversation without downing me.

Asking retail would lose you money though. Ebay fee's are 10% of final value + they take a fee on the shipping cost which i believe is 3.5% of the shipping cost.

So to come out on top you'd probably have to sell it around $400 or so.

OMG dude, really? Your THAT guy? I was simply pointing out a way a guy could save his NRD by selling it or transferring it to a fellow collector. I honestly don't know why your so bent on trying to prove that it would be so difficult, because it really isn't? :slap

Plenty of boardies that would gladly pay his cost, plus shipping, plus fees for it. $375 on Ebay would more then likely cover all his costs, and since they are currently selling between $500 and $600, he would be hailed a hero for selling so low. I get that for whatever reason he is intent on giving away his money to SS, but for the life of me I can't figure out why your so bent on turning this into some kind of internet grudge match.

LOL Wow, now who needs a hug.

The Big Lebowski. Check it out.

Or more like $550 if like me you're in the UK. With Ivy, $550 would just about recoup the shipping, the VAT and import duty and cover the eBay and Paypal fees. That's just breaking even, trying only to recover what you've spent.

Selling statues in the UK is much more difficult in the US because the prices always have to be so much higher than original retail. Factor in the potential risk of fraudulent claims/dishonest eBay buyers and you can understand how an international customer might prefer to simply cancel an unwanted pre-order and eat the NRD rather than try to move it on.

Oh Absolutely, I don't envy you international buyers at all.

I wish SS would bring back there European warehouse especially now there so much bigger than what they were when they originally had it.

I've found selling SS, HT & EB pieces so easy & that's just in the UK.

I put my Wolverine PF up last month & it sold within a few hours. Most HT figures sell like hot cakes

If some me was to come in here and say "I have an Ex for sale for retail+shipping+fees" there would be at least 2 or 3 guys who would probably JUMP at the chance to get this. Like i said I would still be without an Batman Ex if a fellow Freak hadn't decided to pass his good fortune onwards when he decided to cancel it...:lecture
