I'm not going to deny this can happen, but you're saying you'd rather let your child hang with a known perv than someone who hasn't been proven or disproven to be one yet?

Again I'm not really taking sides, but on one end there is a known quantity of nasty and pervertedness (with probably serious UNKNOWN and deep psycho trauma that led to the known pervertedness in the first place) and on the other end your speculation that everyone is whacked out anyway.

I can't make that leap.

I'm saying that if I had a child, I wouldn't be up in arms over this issue because if I went crazy over "moral" issues, I could find things in just about everyone's past or present that would lead me to think they shouldn't be dealing with kids. I've known prim and proper single moms that were into some pretty questionable ____, but they were damn good parents and raised their kids right.

Just because someone has done something on camera previously doesn't mean I think they shouldn't be allowed to work with children if there are no indicators that that part of their life is intruding on their work with kids. I simply am not going to judge them. There are other things to worry about when it comes to kids, specifically the people they deal with that AREN'T reading to them in front of dozens of people, cameras, and other kids. It's harmless.

People ususally like sitting on their high horses and pretending being morally superior to the rest of the human beings.

The ironic thing is that this is usually a sign of either their own insecurity about the world that surrounds them, or simply a way to hide their trully low moral standards.

"Ooooooh Joseph", ready to go to the porn convention! :1-1:

This was clearly in bad taste. If I were a parent, I would have at least wanted to make the choice for my kid. Parents should have a say in who their kids are exposed to. I wouldn't want my 1st grader consorting with porn stars, prostitutes, crack heads, weed heads, pimps, pedophiles or any other folks who might be involved with an unsavory lifestyle legal or illegal without my approval first!

If Whitney Houston was reading to 1st Graders, there wouldn't be a thread about it, and she fits perfectly with the bolded part of your quote. I think there's a bit of hypocrisy going around this thread along with a lot of nervous soapboxing.

So let's use your rational. Who's worse? The porn star who does it for money, or the freaks (apparently including you by your "run of the mill" statement) who pay money to see it? And if you're paying money to see it, why should you be around anybody else's children, let alone your own?

The only difference, honestly, between her and millions of people the world over, is that she doesn't hide what she does. And if you're vilifying her based on that, it's nothing short of ignorant double standards. In the context of the situation, she's an adult, reading to 1st Graders in a highly controlled environment. She doesn't have a criminal record peppered with violence or pedophilia, so I don't see what the issue is.

:dunno Well I tried to have a semi-rational, adult level debate..witch is something you're apparently incapable of:monkey1..
tired of your backwards "logic", your infantile need to try to constantly offend everyone, and your constant stream of immature name-calling..have a nice day:wave :ignore:

So basically, you were talking out of your ass and got tied up in your own words again and don't have an answer then. That's what I thought, hypocrite. :wave :lol

Would people have the same issue if Arnold Schwarzenegger went to read to a classroom full of first graders, since his films glorify violence and murder, and in his personal life he cheated on his wife and fathered a son with his housekeeper?

Would they throw a fit about that, too?

There might not be a thread about it but I wouldn't want that crack head reading to my kids without my permission first!

Nothing hypocritical about that at all!

I like the Whitney Houston part of my post better. Bringing up the unassuming crackhead always makes people think about what they type. :lol

Arent you a teacher in CA? You should know that a background check would and can only check for illegal activity in her criminal record not what she does for work. Plus if they did background check it would use her legal name so yeah they wouldnt find that she was Sasha Grey.

Which is why I said formal and informal. Let's not be daft about this, people working in education deal with all kinds, the almost overly liberal to the amazingly hyper conservative. The administration at all sites would type in her legal name (which is noted on many things included a Wikipedia page and many fan sites) into Google and figure it out. ____, if you type in her legal name into the Google the first thing up is her Sasha Grey page. It's simple that this is more of a case of someone in an office who didn't do their due dilligence than the fact she snuck in, if they thought there was nothing wrong with it they wouldn't have lied to try and cover it up.

Now if the principal had said "So what? She is just reading and is a legit actress now," it'd be one thing but the fact is they tried to lie and she was never there.

The fact she is Sasha Grey has little to do with the issue which is that someone at a school ____ed up. Chris Brown helps out students, I don't like him and he was convicted in a domestic violence case but that doesn't mean I'd freak the ____ out because he wanted to read to kids. Kobe Bryant only had charges dropped in a rape case because she refused to testify and then he settled with her out of court which doesn't gleen a whole lot of innocence but he works with kids all the time.

What people are doing is issuing an amazing double standard because she was in porn, and it has happened with things like Playboy shoots and bikini modeling etc for anything dealing with schools, teachers, etc for decades.

If these parents diverted the energy they're spending being "outraged" to doing some actual parenting, they might be less worried about Sasha Grey's life choices rubbing off on their kids.

Let's be honest, if we took everyone who "outraged" parents out of who'd be willing to help out kids at schools, there'd be every little left. If these parents actually volunteered at their schools or were interactive at some point, she would have never made on campus but it's easier apparently to _____ after the fact.

Let's be honest, this was all a move by the principal to try and have a go at Sasha Grey and it blew up in his face. :lol
