Yeah I'd dig a crouched over one like the second pic. I think I'm the only one that would want it with an X base too ha. And it may make the price cheaper too if it had an X base
I'd prefer an X base as well since the other 90s costume X-Men are on X bases. Except for Cyclops. If not an X base, then a rock base that matches Cyclops to pretty much recreate this:

You are not the only one Destroyous, we Need a Wolverine on a Red X definitely and We also need a Cyclops on a Red "X" also Peedi but I do not understand what you are wanting on the second portion of your comment Peedi, Cyclops PF is already on a Rock, Wolverine PF is already on a Rock or Environmental Base along with Sabertooth PF
From what I understand as to the way things go we may not see another Ironman statue maybe until 2015 and I mean maybe but that is also when the Avengers II comes out

Well They've done Cyclops, Colossus, Wolverine, Rogue, Sabretooth, Emma Frost, Gambit, Psylocke, Mystique, Apocolypse, Deadpool and Storm.
So Who's left? Beast, Jean Grey, Magneto, Professor X, Night Crawler, Juggernaut, Mr. Sinister, Toad, Bishop, Ice-man and Kitty Pryde? They could of course go on forever.
Don't forget Jubilee, Havok and Banshee but alot of the others are considered by most as the B and C levels and the Wolverine I refer to is the Brown Version my Friend but I could take anyone of those on the who's left list, Josh
Man, I just wish SSC would do a completely separate line of fully sculpted 1/4 scale pieces. I mean divorcing those from the PF line and giving it an entirely different name. Market them separately and start lines under a new name. I would love this for the X-MEN and Avengers. The Apocalypse PF would have been a perfect example of this. My greatest wish would be a 1/4 fully sculpted John Byrne era X-MEN line up. That is something I desperately want and would buy every character of. I would also buy a bunch of Avengers pieces if done the same way. As much as I'm enjoying some of SSC's fully sculpted PFs, I still feel like they are an afterthought. They are done only because SSC can't make the characters work in mixed media. I would love to see more emphasis put on releasing fully sculpted 1/4 pieces because SSC wants to...not because they can't make it work as mixed media.
That all being said, I hope we see a classic Byrne line up. I'd like a Colossus, Wolverine, Nightcrawler, Storm, Cyclops, Phoenix, and Kitty. All of them wearing Byrne's costume designs from his run on the X-MEN. I grew up on that run and to this very day, they are my favorite X-MEN stories.
I'd also like to bring back Adam Hughes for one more Com. How SSC could neglect Storm is beyond me. To have an AH! White Queen, Rogue, Mystique, and Black Queen but not Storm is ridiculous. The line can't be complete without her. Well, those are my wandering thoughts for today.

Yeah but you have to admit sometimes the Mixed media does do a little something extra. Like that new Thor Pf. The Pleather outfit just adds a cool dimension. Sometimes I agree with you about fully sculpted, but other times, the mixed media is the way to go.

I actually am really liking the current run of fabrics being used on PFs. The fabric used on Bats was flat out amazing. When I unboxed him in front of my wife I said to her...I can't believe I finally broke down and bought a spandex styled cloth uniform PF. She looked at from about 4 feet away and stated...that's not a cloth statue. It's fully sculpted. My reply was, I know what I bought, this is a cloth costume. She didn't believe me and came over to touch the statue. She was floored when she saw that it was actual cloth. I already knew I made the right choice in buying the PF. The proto pics were amazing. I was just hoping the production pieces would turn out as good. Aside from the minor pit problem, they did. Superman, Harley, and the modern Thor are next. So, I have come a LONG way when it comes to PFs. Although I still cringe and think of what could have been with the Wolverine and Sabretooth PFs whenever I see them.
That all said, I really think SSC is letting a HUGE opportunity go by. Look, their Coms aren't selling. That's just a fact. If Coms were making SSC serious bank, there would be much more of them offered. The fact that they even openly said they are paying less attention to Coms in favor of PFs is telling. The main reason they aren't selling is because they are 1/5 scale. So, why not wrap up the current Com line where needed and turn the Com line into 1/4 fully sculpted pieces? This way you still have a line for mixed media in 1/4 scale (PFs) and you'll also have a fully sculpted 1/4 line (Coms). Just like before, if a statue doesn't lend itself to mixed media (Venom, Iron Man, Silver Surfer) a 1/4 scale Com would be made and no one would complain. The pieces would mix and match because all would be in the same scale. However, by turning the Com line into 1/4 fully sculpted pieces, SSC opens a whole new market for their company. Peeps that hate cloth would line up in droves. SSC could also do what they originally wanted to do with the Com line...sell 2 versions of the same character. Do you honestly think fully sculpted 1/4 pieces of a comic Cap, Thor, Hulk, Colossus, Storm, Cyclops, etc....wouldn't sell because we already have them as PF? I think they'd sell like hot cakes and open a whole new world for collectors and SSC. It's simple really. PFs continue to be made but as 1/4 mixed media pieces only and Coms become 1/4 fully sculpted pieces. Win-win. Lovers of mixed media still get their statues and lovers of 1/4 fully sculpted pieces finally would have a line to call their own and a serious focus on these types of pieces actually getting made. The Com line is all but ignored by SSC. Once the JSC Spidey line fades, so will the Com line. Changing the Com line to fully sculpted 1/4 pieces changes the game. Sales of that line would begin to increase significantly and it would become a real factor for SSC again. Build it, and they will come.

I did think it was weird that SS announced that all CQ's will now be 1/5. If they do do a good job with them though I think they will sell IMO. The new Spidey CQ is selling great & MJ has been very well received. I must admit I never had any intentions of getting into 1/5 but if SS can keep on making CQ's as impressive as there new JSC line then I would love to get a display going of 1/5 scales pieces but I definitely understand your point though. When I 1st see the XM Studio Caps I thought of you but then I see the price & that pretty much killed it for me.
I personally prefer mixed media, especially now. I just feel they bring the statues to life & make them unique. I definitely understand your point with Wolverine but SS have come along way since then & I think they could blow us away with a new mixed media Wolverine but I understand people have different tastes so I hope your wish of fully 1/4 sculpted statues happens. Mixed media isn't going anywhere. SSC built their business off of mixed media PFs. My idea never called for an end to mixed media. It's quite the opposite. 1/4 scale PFs would ONLY be mixed media statues and 1/4 scale Coms would ONLY be fully sculpted statues. The new 1/4 fully sculpted format doesn't even have to be called Coms (it can be called something else) but it's not like SSC is doing much with the Com format anyway. You say you like the new JSC Com line. Fine. However, are you down for any Avengers or X-MEN Coms? How about FF Coms? What happens after the JSC Black Cat Com is released and the line stops? Would you buy or start any of these other lines in 1/5 scale? Pretty much all I ever read around here when Coms come up for sale is...looks nice but it's 1/5 scale, so pass. The most popular quote in any Com thread usually is 1/5 scale is fail! I think the only real popular Com line is the Star Wars Mythos line and the JSC Spidey Coms nowadays. How does that even come close to comparing to the popularity of the PF lines? The Com line is basically in limbo. The Com releases are few and far between. When was the last X-MEN Com released? Yet, PF collectors are begging SSC for a break in the action because we can't keep up with all of the great releases of late. That's a HUGE difference. The bottom line is that 1/5 scale pieces do not sell. Not nearly as much as 1/4 pieces do. SSC admitted that publicly.
Why not make the change? What does SSC have to lose? Make an effort to wrap up whatever 1/5 scale Com lines are out there now and make the switch to 1/4 fully sculpted pieces. This way the Com line is viable again (increased sales) for SSC, collectors that love 1/4 fully sculpted pieces don't have to wait for the oddball release when a piece can't be executed in mixed media format, and a PF collector is guaranteed a mixed media piece whenever a PF is released. It's truly win-win at this point. SSC just isn't doing anything significant with it's Com line nowadays. There is a reason for that.
