I don't think it will last that long
it would actually be nice to see SSC start lowering ESs so that these things sell out a bit quicker.

I've heard stories about statues selling out in minutes or hours... apparently that was a long time ago...
It does sound thrilling though!
It was. I would get comfortable and have my dinner there on my desk. Would start refreshing the site and then boom! Updates. I would frantically read the newsletter. Place my orders and then celebrate my victories. Became a routine I looked forward too.I've heard stories about statues selling out in minutes or hours... apparently that was a long time ago...

Try your hand at XM, you'll get to experience it first hand. It's not very thrilling (stressful, rather) as far as I'm concerned, but to each their own.I've heard stories about statues selling out in minutes or hours... apparently that was a long time ago...

Nope. Just stress and relief, two emotions I'm not keen on in a hobby. If I hadn't gotten my foot in the door with one of the forum resellers for Phoenix I probably would have just thrown in the towel for XM after the SimplyToys debacle. Mind you, I think there is a balance to be struck, but neither SS nor XM are hitting it at the moment. Both are at the extremes.I didn't enjoy it when Sideshow started out...it's more of a pain in the ass than anything. There's no fun or thrills
For you maybe...some people don't collect the number on the bottom
yea, that's not how I collect either but it's nice to know that IF I need to resell because of changing interest or lack of space, I can get my money back. With SSC recently, this is going out the window quick. Makes me think a lot harder about what I buy...

Yep, can't forget that. But even if XM themselves stopped taking early pre-orders, is there anything they could really do to enforce that with retailers? Regardless, I'm curious to see just how many statues end up reserved before anyone even has a clue as to what the final proto looks like. It'd help if XM stopped taking orders before they've finished sculpting things too
