Re: Predator 2 City Hunter 1:4 Maquette

I'm excited about this! I think I will put it on a pedestal. Anyone have a link for custom acrylic display cases in the U.S.? I will need to get one made for this.

Seeing the SS pictures makes me wonder if this would look better with a red light set up.

I might experiment with that since I own the Bio too.

Re: Predator 2 City Hunter 1:4 Maquette

. . . would be like printing money if somebody did it right . . .

Wait patiently on Narin my friend :naughty

As for Sideshow - ego pulled a "used car salesman" bit, his supposed picky design experts obviously were NOT, and the end delivery could have been easily improved - but wasn't - and won't be.

The faults are what reduced their sales - and it's why the 1000 ES on the regular will likely result in pieces still being for sale through Sideshow and/or affiliates for base price in 12 months time.

Wasted opportunity.

I agree, I fully expect to see them drop the price on the regular edition pieces to move them like they are doing with the Berserker bust.

Tough call really. This is a 1/4 Pred after all. You can't buy a statue of a 1/4 pred anywhere else and this type of release only comes about every 3 or so years.

Look at Wolf he sold out at an even higher price. I think as long as this one comes out good it'll sell out.

Well you know I agree with you pretty much on all fronts, I actually hope Narin doesn't release his P2 for a good year or so now I'm invested in this one but I can't wait to see it as it i pretty much guaranteed to be the P2 to have. The reg version of this will indeed be in stock for a long old while I suspect.... probably sat with the big Berserker bust it the "best sellers" section of the website :lol I am ultimately hoping they pleasantly surprise us with this one! Despite the faults, it really could be amazing with a few small alterations and a decent paint job!

I just wish Narin could give us more info or an update on what's going on with his latest P2.
If you have any latest info or even a link where he would announce the preorder, that would help. Thanks.

Wolf may have been more money, but he is also larger and better looking in every way. He sold out due to only having around 300 made when they stopped. He would still be for sale if they made 1300 of him like they are of the P2.

Narin's got all sorts of stuff in progress and the situation in his country isn't helping at-all. He owes me an email but I'll drop him a line again later today about the P2 to see if he has a realistic ETA. Ironically, the release of the Sideshow piece may have pushed this further onto the back burner.

There are a number of places you can keep track of Narin's work - but I'd strongly suggest becoming a member of The Clubhouse and The Hunters Lair :wink1:

Re: Predator 2 City Hunter 1:4 Maquette

Didn't Narin say the P2 would be after his Berserker? If so I imagine it wont be out in a hurry seeing as the Berserker is still hidden away. Personally I hope he takes all the time he needs with it, I bet he's laughing his backside off at all of us paying so much for this Sideshow P2 knowing what he has in store. I'm actually looking forward to seeing his Berserker also, just wish it was a little bigger than 1:6.

Bigger the better.
1:5 SS line was better than I thought it would be, strange choice of poses there, but they could of made them 1:4.
Even fully sulpted and they would be sold out now instead of sitting in a warehouse.

A 1:6 piece would have to be spectacular to tempt me...or cheap.

I agree. If Narins Berserker isn't too expensive I'll give it a shot and use it as a skill tester ;) I actually liked the pose on Sideshows Berserker, I ordered the EX but ended up getting cold feet and transferring my NRD over to another item, I'm glad I did as the paint on the production pieces was really... Really bad!! SS really dropped the ball on that line.

Re: Predator 2 City Hunter 1:4 Maquette

Ah you're talking the Maquettes, I was on about the statues.

I had the Falconer, boy was that a badly painted statue.
Nearly bought the Berserker to display next to the bust but a fellow Freak told me the paint was just as bad...if not worse.

Re: Predator 2 City Hunter 1:4 Maquette

Ahh sorry, my mistake. I sure would like to see this guy in 1:4 though, if not at the P2s price...

Re: Predator 2 City Hunter 1:4 Maquette

:lol Okay you got me... Just to clarify I did mean Mr Black ;) And it stands to reason KNB could, or have laser scanned the suit so we could have a nice accurate maquette of him!

I have it, still sealed in it's box. What was wrong with the paint? Watched some videos of it and didn't really see any problems...

Really flat mate. There's a rib cage on the floor and the paint bleed was terrible on mine.

Re: Predator 2 City Hunter 1:4 Maquette

I C.
Will take it out and take a looksie... The ribcage is in the back, so if it's bad, I will not see it. Got him for $175 shipped, so no biggie if not perfect. I guess.

I like my 3 maquettes from that line, sure they paint is not the greatest and there are some accuracy issues, but you can get them as cheap or cheaper than the Hot Toys versions so I picked them up. I may try some repainting myself but they are not as bad as some reviews say. Of course paint can vary as with other SS pieces so I am sure some might look worse than others.
