Re: Predator 2 City Hunter 1:4 Maquette

The 1/3 Narin should come close in size to the Wolf LSF.
I hope I do not miss it.

In fact, if SS or any other good intentioned company is following this, here is what the P2 looks like, have a good old look...

You're welcome...

Haha.. oh yeah, sorry. :chase

You know, I think making his armor a more metallic bronze with the blue/geren highlights would have quite a large effect, easy to do SS.

Re: Predator 2 City Hunter 1:4 Maquette

Geez, Sideshow needs to take a good look at that combi-stick/spear too, although fixing the bio should take priority.

Re: Predator 2 City Hunter 1:4 Maquette

Not sure, but at 100% feedback and over 200 likes and no negatives , It's hard to believe you'd be getting something sub par.

I AM sure (100% sure in fact :) ) - and so is Narin. Revengemonst (just one of the many ID's he goes by) is a high-volume thief who recasts others kits, sells them himself AND sells them on to other "producers" who are happy to deal in recasts. He is THE biggest thorn in Narin's side, and is despised by all legitimate GK hobbyists. Unfortunately, there are always those that either don't care (or don't know) and still buy from him :taz

Hmmm, I don't think that is the Narin P2, can't say I have seen that one before mind, looks more P2ish than the SS maquette (bio's off but so is sideshows). No mention of netting etc however... Maybe HMS will put it too him.

The P2 in the eBay auction is for one of Narin’s VERY early sculpts – Narin #08 from the SNAKE index – sculpted in 2001. Nothing to do with the new sculpt (other than the sculptor :) )

Now THIS is our boy – attitude & testosterone – not a bit of “girly” in sight! (well – except for the fishnets :wink1: ).

Thanks buddy, I have been looking all over to find that one, I knew it had to be very old. And yep, that picture is a screen grab from the blu ray, the head tilted back pose is the P2 all over imo.

I think a whole new head sculpt would be appreciated by most.

Re: Predator 2 City Hunter 1:4 Maquette

These two pictures bring a tear to my eye. I'm still not sure if I made the right decision.....

Could they have got anymore wrong on this Maq......

Open mouth was the way to go, EVERY DAY OF THE WEEK. We can only hope someone like Madxcollector custom makes a head for this beast, I don't think he likes preds though.

Re: Predator 2 City Hunter 1:4 Maquette

I started looking over this maquette again, and...

...that base has no rhyme or reason. Couldn't tell you where the sculptor was going with that.

I'm not even mad either. It's so lame, it's funny. :lol

It's obviously meant to represent the tribal aspect of the City Hunter with the skulls and the paint reflects the ship. It's a shame because a base can really add visual "pop". Just look at the Keaton Batman, people like the base more than the statue!

I don't think it's bad, it's just not good.

I still like this statue though, it got some really great feedback and when it hit the show everyone was going crazy about it, saying it was one of the best pieces of the day. Then we got a hold of the pictures and destroyed him! :lol

I'm sure it'll be a beast of a statue with good presence, it better be for the price we are paying.

The reason is 99% of the time they look better open.

Yup, I always though City Hunter was the angriest looking of all the predators because his eye's always looked really dark and he always had a sort of heavy frown going on. He's just got this kind of strange expression on his face like "Hey look, I'm a statue".

The only predator deserving of closed mandibles is Elder IMO.

Re: Predator 2 City Hunter 1:4 Maquette

One thing I noticed while looking at the pictures today, I'm not sure if you guys have brought this up.

The regular has the smart disc in it's holster by the looks of it, but the Exclusive show's an empty holster? Does this mean our (exclusive) disc is

A) Removable on the Exclusive only?
B) Removable on both versions but the Ex has the extra hand with the disc inside?
C) There are two discs with the Exclusive one for the holster and one sculpted with the hand?

If It's option B I'm not sure what's stopping someone from just placing the disc in the existing hand? (Unless it doesn't fit).
