That is my only true gripe, congrats on getting yours today. The unmasked head is what bothers me, which I intend on fixing by sending it to an expert, who can bring that part of the statue to life

since I can't open mine until this weekend, I will just ask now. For those that say they still don't like the shape of the P2 mask, do you think that is something that could be resculpted quite easily, or would it take a completely new head based on the shape?

Tough call - I'm not sure this can be fixed - and it already looks oversized compared to the body.

You'll see the challenges once you have it in-hand so your best bet is to wait until you can see for yourself.

Okay, I spent the last few hours taking pictures of this guy, about 2-300 and having uploaded them they are pretty much all write offs. The dull British Winters are killers for indoor photography unless you have sufficient lighting, which the modern energy saving bulbs are not! I refuse to post pictures with a flash so good pictures will have to wait, here's a few random ones that were acceptable at best for now...


As for the statue, I'll talk in more detail about it another time, first thoughts are it's a mixed bag. I like it, the pose is as superb in person as it is in pictures, it has the presence. But putting completely aside the parts of the sculpt we already knew about, mine has some bad production issues that have ruined the enjoyment somewhat. The bio isn't fitted properly, there are a few parts with missing paint, the base plate is badly applied, The cannon only fits with one head due to the position of the dreads on the other. And the netting on mine is really badly applied, not sure if I just got unlucky but it is bulged up and overlapping in parts, such as all the way down the middle of the legs, the top of the arm and around the armour etc. Oh and the magnets are really weak on mine, I'm worried the spear arm in particular might actually fall off at any point. Also, the two dreads furthest forward seem to have a mind of their own and are pointing forward for some reason. I'm hoping applying heat will loosen these so I can re position them without breaking them if they are plastic, which in fairness, I honestly can't tell.

The paint however is better than I expected, if not lacking. I'll give some more balanced feedback tomorrow when I've seen more of it. I do like it quite a lot over all.

Oh by the way, here 's a size comparison of the 1/4 City Hunters from Sideshow and Neca, the feet on the Neca version are very close to the same level as the rear foot on the SSC version...

sorry to hear about your statue dude, on the NECA head that is how I did wish they designed the helmet because that is how it is supposed to look

besides the more accurate shape of the Bio, that figure looks like poopoo compared to the statue, which is a good thing cause the figure is what, only $80? I think the 1/4 Neca figures are undersized and the 1/4 SS Predators are a tiny bit oversized.

How do you guys drop a $1000+ on a statue you never liked, have pointed out the problems constantly and have basically never wished to own?

I've gotta say, I completely agree.

I'm disappointed in Col, Heavy Metal and Python for caving on this. But, I hope you're all happy with it in the end. I just can't fathom spending one grand on this. It's not anywhere near worth the quality.

I almost want to buy this just to be part of the group.

If it was $600 or less I'd jump on it in an instant and have someone give it a full makeover.

I agree with you on the quality/price thing. Why did I order?

• In-hand pics showing Sideshow appeared to have done a better job with the paint & QC than was expected (the paint is much better than it could have been).
• A $20% ($240 USD) discount that could be used to fix some of the more glaring issues..
• My Son pestering me (he now regrets this).
• It allowed me to have a look at one in person.

• I now have the choice of returning due to QC issues & faults or reselling locally & making a profit. I’m going to give it a few days before deciding which.
• I also like that it reduces Sideshow’s earnings – compensation in a way. The EX would have sold out EVENTUALLY even without the discount but we now know they will HAVE to offer something similar now to shift 1000 REG’s.​

In the meantime I’ve given him a nickname after one of the members here

The discount was enought to tempt me. I was hoping to get the Reg discounted so the Ex was just a bonus.

There's no excuse for the warped spear and that gap between Bio and head on a piece that costs this much.
Surprised it hasn't been highlighted earlier.

Nope, just shifted the angle a bit, it isn't too noticeable in fairness. I plan to alter the bio a bit in future, hopefully widening the dome will sort the gap out also. To be fair, it isn't too big of a deal for me in the grand scheme of things. Are you happy with yours?

Got home at 07:15. Guy knocked about 11:00 and literally dropped it on the doorstep.
Went back to sleep for a bit, done a bit of running around and back in work for 19:00.

I'll get to open it tomorrow.
