I know this has nothing to do with market value, but in my eyes, the desirability of the Elder went way down with the release of this new body. He would just look too awkward and unrealistic on a display with Shadow. For the sake of you guys who are completists, I do hope HT considers re-doing more of the previously released Pred guys with these newer bodies.

hell, he looked out of place when i got my P1 and Guardian. HT seems to improve the quality of their stuff by leaps and bounds these days. i'd get a new and improved Elder if they made it, but i have no reason to think they ever will. we'll probably have to wait until some other company gets the license before we get remakes of characters that had like a minute of screen time. HT has much bigger licenses that make real $$ now and they're just making these preds as a courtesy at this point.

If you ask me Gaurd is the odd ball seems out of place with shadow/elder/lost

Only thing The elder needs is a new paint job on the body

Am I the only one who thinks Lost is the one which looks best at least on this photo? BTW, I'm one the very few who love the Lost Predator figure. But apart from that I think he looks best from the 4 in this particular photo. Cheers

Maybe, but I'd still take Elder everytime over any figure.

elder is still a badass looking figure and looks great next to shadow though the shadow paint looks a bit better but thats all. by better i mean improved. the paint on elder is great too.

I would agree with this for the most part. Paint app difference between the two is the most glaring. All of the Elder's trophies and accessories hanging off him help to keep your eyes off his huge round shoulders and chicken legs. I have them displayed standing next to eachother, it doesn't bother me (granted its amongst seven other Predators - your mileage may vary).

Um... you do realize that if they were to remake the P2 with this new body, armor, paint app quality, and the same plethora of accessories he had before, he'd be an instant hit? Let's put it this way, if such a thing were to happen, it would easily be the first HT Predator to ever be a shoo-in for Figure of the Year. No question.
The same could even apply to remakes/updates of the P2 Elder and AVP's. Those designs would look amazing in figure form, especially if done accurately. We'd then reach the point where every clan of Preds on our shelves has a different, high-quality body to distiguish its members from those of others.

I use to think HT would redo P2 but I think that might not happen now. This new body is P1 style and really we got this figure because HT did the classic. They only had to sculpt a few new pieces and bam you have this figure. I'm really disappointed with the new head sculpt. The inner mouth looks like a huge fist has punched it in and no way would an actors face fit in there. I hope if HT goes 1/4th we'll get better sculpts. The sculpts should be great for the money you have to pay on these and to me this piece is way over priced. Classic will be nice but the weird inner mouth just kills it for me. I'll have mine with his mask on for sure. I hope HT will also ditch this weird neck they use on these guys. I'd love to see EB take a stab at Predators and Aliens and see what they could do. I think Tsang did a better job on the Predators figures but even those are off but still make great display pieces. I also wish this guy had new feet sculpted. The old P2 feet aren't all that great. I do love the weight and feel of this guy though. I really wish we would do a whole line high end so fans would get the best lost Predator likenesses out there. The likeness on Shadow HT isn't all that great and he doesn't even have the right body. P2 body is way different than P1 especially in the legs. Should be interesting to see what HT will do.

Shadow has a pretty good body and I'd say it suits the P2-style Predators way more than it suits the Classic or P1 (it doesn't look a thing like P1, if we really want to go there).
All I know is, if they used this same body, decked it out with full P2 armor and paint, most people would probably change their tunes. This body is the new classic that is coming out soon and it's sculpted like the 87 movie body. P2 had a whole new sculpt and all the lost Preds shared that body except for the Elder. This is a good P1 body but the likeness isn't P2 at all. P2 thigh area is way different than P1. I don't know about everybody else but 230 dollar price tag I would rather have the more accurate body style and while HT is at it there are all the other Lost guys that would share that body. I do like this new body way better than the old ones though even though it's not a true P2 body. It's P1 and believe I should know right? I'm glad I got this figure though but I should expect more for the money I think. This thing cost a lot more than the Predators figures which gave you more bang for the buck. It's hard to me to look at the mouth on this because it's plain for me to see the whole inter mouth needs to come forward by a lot. I'm still glad I got him.
