No unfortunately fear 666 xX is 100% right, only reason that scene is in the movie is to rip off the original.

No. First off, the original movie Predator is 23 years old. But the "franchise" is not. Regardless of how you or other people feel about AVP and AVP:R those movies DO feature Predators and utilize that license. So the reality is, people were well aware of what a Predator was when this movie came out. You're acting like this is some long lost and forgotten franchise that no one had ever heard of. Completely false. Hell they routinely show both Predator and Predator 2 on TV damn near every other month.
Also the R rating has nothing to do with it because the new Nightmare on Elm Street didn't have a drop in theaters like Predators until AFTER 4 weeks. So it's not "expected" unless you expected this movie to perform poorly.
I'm just glad it's getting a sequel, so you can say if flopped all you want!Predator still lives on!
So is this why you've been so pissy and defending this movie so much!? No one who's a fan of the franchise wants to see it die. We just want a good movie. Predators was not that.

As I said in the other Predators thread, I think timing is another reason it did poorly aswell. I mean just look at it competition. Twilight came out the week before I belive, and all the same people that made Titanic such a hit (teen and tween girls) were gonna see that, and on the same night Preds came out so did Dispicable Me which appeal to the whol family then the next week Incepetion came out which had allready gotten alot of critical acclaim and of course the fact the Chris Nolan directed it didn't hurt. I belive if Preds had been released a month earlier or this month it would probably done a bit better. Most of the people I've talked to who have seen it that arn't hardcore fans enjoyed it.

I don't think so TBH. All those teen and tween girls you mentioned were not seeing this regardless of Twilight being out or not. And all those families that saw Despicable Me that were interested in Predators would've seen it without the kids if they really wanted to. And Inception came out after Predators was already struggling.
What killed Predators IMO was bad word of mouth from people who saw it AND the majority of those people were Predator fans. The movie was rated as "Average". Even people who saw it (critics and fans alike) generally said it was 5 or 6 out of 10. And one of the best things anyone could say about it was "Well it's better than AVP:R". That's not a "glowing" review by any stretch of the imagination.
You can see how much the numbers dropped off from the first weekend to the 2nd and so on to see the effects of that. Compare that to like Inception that had massive praise and good word of mouth. The drop off is nowhere near the same.
Hopefully the next one will do better. It would be crazy if a Predator movie ever made like over 300 million domestically.

I will agree. I had a theory of why...but I hate theories...
Actually, yes. You see, dispite the AvP Films, they still arent Predator movies. The story of the Predator is not present in those films. There is a slight continuation of the story for Predator-Predators. So yes, it is...in a way, a very old franchise. There have been movies featuring the character...but that's not the same. (And i'm even using the AVP DONT EXIST thing...AvP is a different franchise. )
And you have to also understand, Freddy has had 9 movies since 1984. One in 2003. Factor in Michael Bay, and PD, which has the teens flocking, you have a surefire hit.
What does Predators have for today's youth? Not much....
And the BO thing, that reason, and the fact you continued posting it, over and over again without contributing to the discussion of the movie...we get it, it didnt do that great. But it got a sequel, so who gives a flying rats testical sack.

I'm not saying it was a great movie. It has a ton of flaws everyone has pointed out, and I agree with a good percentage of them....
I still stand by my statement. Dumbed down remakes from a super popular, and iconic (way more then Predator) franchise will probably make more money then Predator.
Most people arent fans of Predator...atleast teenagers arent. When I talked about this movie, they thought it was a sequel to AvP....they have no clue that Predator has been around since 1987.
But Freddy? Freddy is everywhere. He's all over halloween stores, he's on shirts, TV shows, everywhere. Hell, even kids shows refrence Freddy every once in a while.
Predator? He's been in ONE. My Gym Partner's a Monkey.
So Freddy is more popular, so....his movie will get more people to see it.
And yet, that movie was BEYOND god awful....

Dude that's cool. But what I keep telling you is, just because YOU liked it doesn't mean you have to take it personal when other people didn't or talk about it in an unflattering way. Which is what you've been doing. You might not see it.. but that's exactly what you've been doing and I've told you that over and over again. Other peoples opinions shouldn't affect your own. You're not the Predators defender.

Nah. I really havent. But if someone says something incredibly stupid about the movie, i'm going to comment on it.
So I dont see how that's taking anything personally. I mean, point out moments where I was taking it peronally and going crazy about the movie...
I mean, I closed the other thread because it was nothing but people trolling trying to piss me off. You kept posting the BO stuff, and that got annoying, if you posted it once, I wouldnt have cared, but you posted that like 5 or 6 times within a few days. JUST to piss me off. You had no other intention. So that was annoying.
And the only person i've been disagreeing with is Fear, because he states his opinions in such a way that it's like he's looking for a fight or something.
