And how many Rainmain sculpts have been fixed? None by my account. He's more the one that doesn't seem to care. I'd highly recommend dropping his over hyped butt and keep using sculptors that actually care about the subject matter. I know you guys worship him like a god, but he isn't. The message you are sending on this figure is that iminime doesn't care what the fans think of this figure if you release the headsculpt as is.

You guys do some fantastic work. Don't get me wrong about that. But more and more of the headsculpts have seemed rush, and needing improvement and not many are getting that treatment. Frankly, most of them have been Rainman sculpts. You gained a fanbase here with your attention to detail and good sculpts. Ignoring their input will only turn them away.

I know you guys are looking at going pro from the Walking Dead thread. Licensors aren't going to be any less critical that we are, perhaps even more. Best get used to having the first sculpt attempt not being the one and only attempt.

I know I'm sounding harsh, but I do think I'm just saying what everyone is only thinking and being too polite to say.

Rahs, Tony, Alfred, Bateman, and Keaton were all modded based on customer demand... Saying iminime at ALL ignores thier customers requests is a ludicrous statement, as proven again by this release as they have stated they will tweak this as well.

What I will agree with, however, as much as I love him and as many.. thousands as I've spent on his work, I think the weakest sculpts of iminimes collection so far have come from rainman. Alfred and Tony especially. Iminimes head guy has knocked some insane heads out, like Grimes, Mills, Freeman, etc. He's the one im hoping takes the reigns from now on. I will always appreciate rainmans involvment and artistic input on any figure I own, but id like his role to be more of an overseer and consultant in this case.

Denny has never had a problem with taking criticism, and to suggest so again, is simply uninformed and incorrect. He not only takes it, he listens, replys individually to each issue, and handles it as classy as any artist ever could when defending and addressing concerns with their work. I really don't think you speak for as many people as you think you do in this case Dane, your opinion is entitled of course and your a stand up dude, not trying to ruffle any feathers, just saying I think your wrong on this front

@ yruh8n: You're right. A lot of people confuse likeness and texture when judging quality. I'm guilty of that many times too. The 89' Joker and I want to say Adam's sculpt? is an example of that. The reason why people get fooled with texture is because if the realism that it brings. Even when the other sculpts have a better likeness, they get overshadowed because a lack of texture looks very toyish. The perfect sculpt is a marriage of both likeness and texture.

@ Buttmunch: Dude WTF is the story??? You lack of tact is bonkers. I get telling it like it is and saying with others are thinking and blah blah blah but you really pull no punches. You're right in a lot that you say but you're delivery is so bad you're good points end up falling on deaf ears. Go get a filter guy, you get more with sugar then vinegar. I'm not sure where you've been but both Rainman and Iminime both have been very receptive too fan input and have made changes accordingly.


Anywaaaayyy...I hate to say it but I was really love drunk over this (now I'm just regular drunk ) and was in denial of this sculpts' likeness. It could use work and there could be more Hopkins added. Everyone talks about the mouth but I'm not sure the size of the lips is the issue. If you mean that you want a more subtle smile, then I can understand that. I think the main problem is the eyes. Hopkins' eyes are rounder and a little closer together. Hopefully something can be done because I really want all versions of this

I've preordered this too.
I agree there's a slight issue with likeness, but acually Denny n team (rainman) are very close already. They've done a really good work on the sculpt, IMHO it's just a slight issue of distance/placement of the mouth and eyes.

I've made a little tweak on the photoshop, to the head. All I did is just move the mouth up, just a lil bit, and lower the eyes down. I also give more shadow to the eyes area, because Lecter has sunken eye sockets (but on the sculpt it can be done buy applying dark paints around the eye sockets). I also add a slight touch on the nose bridge, making the eyes distance closer, and change the pupil placement into more focused staring.

So actually it only needs a little tweak, and voila.. you got yourself a brain eater genius.

You bring up a great point there it really does bring out the likeness more.

Whoa!! You are right...the tweaks that you made and adding in the shadow around the eyes makes a big difference. If Denny can apply those features to the sculpt, I think people will be satisfied with it. As for the gurney, if there is a list I want on

They DID NOT fix Ra's I know that for a fact as I was going to order that figure if they fixed him, and Rainman didn't.


Rainman has by far turned out their worst sculpts. As you mentioned others like Rick Grimes, look fantastic - and Rainman didn't do them! I know they are banking on his name recognition here, but they really ought to drop him as he isn't giving them his best work.

I know I'm being harsh. But often times with customs I've noticed you have to in order to get any changes done. There is far too much butt kissing going on and sometimes these guys need a slap of reality to correct issues. Saying "I love the sculpt its almost perfect! The lips could use some fixing but I'm still buying it" sends the wrong message.

I've wanted a good Hannibal figure for years, but at the price they are asking, I'm just asking them to fix something we all felt needed fixing from the beginning. Something that should have been taken care of long before painting.

No, we just don't share the same view of iminime. Although I will admit Rainman's sculpts have been some of the weakest, I think it has everything to do with his style and ability and nothing to do with iminime's work ethic. That being said, I do think that iminime should stick to using their in-house sculptors, because they obviously have some tremendous talent at their fingertips who have continually proven they can sculpt incredible likenesses.
