Hot Toys seemingly abandoned every other property for everything for DC and Marvel.

Swap DC with Star Wars, then it's correct

It's really strange. On first glance it looks good apart from the likeness, but then I see that there are many inaccuracies. Pants not long enough, LED counter on both sides of the pulse rifle, weird hollow shape to the ends of the grenades, etc. I want to like it as we are really missing Aliens figures, but I think I'll save my money and hope someone else does it.

Honestly, the likeness is as off as HT, just in different ways. But in a toss up, I'd lean towards PT actually.

I don't hate this though. I usually anticipate other brands hopping on obscure things and doing their take, but a lot of PT's takes aren't getting that treatment.

I prefer my custom i made a few years ago.

I rather they just re-cast the CM gear and armor and just sold it as a "Space Soldier". I would buy ten of them.

Truth be told I’ve always liked Alien more than Aliens, including Ripley’s outfit. Maybe I’ll get this but I’m pretty happy with my Hot Toys version.

I’d rather get a Xeno to display with her. Right now mine is displayed with the Elder Predator since that’s the closest figure I own to an Alien from her universe of films.

I don't think they want it to be TOO accurate, this is, after all, an unlicensed figure. We'll see how far they take it. Aside from Indy, what else is actually out and how good is it!?

Yeah here's hoping this is just the first of many third party Ripleys, and we'll have a variety to choose from like with Homelander, Penguin, etc.

Wow, this was quite a surprise. Likeness needs a whole lot of work, but still cool to see a new Ripley figure anyway.

I'll buy decently high-quality third-party figures from Aliens (or any of the other tragically ignored licenses like Firefly, Deadwood, Blade Runner, Orphan Black, Willy Wonka, Alice in Wonderland, Dark Crystal, Labyrinth, Last of Us, Princess Bride, etc., etc., etc. - or from woefully underserved ones like Terminator, Predator, Ghostbusters, etc) because collectors cannot live on SW, MCU, and DC alone. If the big companies won't tackle these licenses, I'll support third-party companies that will.

In fact, if the big companies are listening, 2023 will mark the first year I have spent more of my hobby dollars on third-party figures than I did on licensed figures, so it might be time for you guys to reassess your licenses and consider expanding or adding new lines. I don't need a fifth Darth Vader, I'm drowning in Grogus, and you've made more spider Man and Iron Man figures than I can count - and the thrid-party companies are rushing in to fill all the holes that you're leaving behind - they're creating the interesting characters that collectors have been waiting for while you're busy doing another clone repaint ... and they're doing an increasingly good job with some companies (like Mars) starting to catch up to you in quality.

I’ve been much more inclined to purchase third party releases recently versus in the past. First I bought the Mars Toys Romero Joker. Now I have the Eternal Toys DeVito Penguin on order.

Still considering the Mars Toys Willy Wonka and Oompa Loompa. Also kind of want to get the Queen Amidala release.

To me third party companies are stepping it up more and more with interesting releases and not only that but are upping their quality more and more.

I still am a Hot Toys fan but there are definitely areas where they’re lacking and other companies are filling in and doing a serviceable job.
