I think "potential life" is why nobody chooses abortion cavalierly yet also why it should not be banned.

I think you're being a little generous there with your "nobody" comment considering statistics show that nearly half of the women having an abortion these days have had at least one previously.

I don't care for abortion. However, I don't feel I have the right to tell someone what to do with their body.

I agree. I'm pro-choice, but I think there should be some reform. I don't think all decisions people are given the freedom to make should go without consequence. If someone wants to divorce their husband or wife they are free to do so but there are legal ramifications. I think a similiar approach should be taken with abortions not related to a violent act which is less than 1% by the way.

I agree there should probably be some reform but that goes against my not telling people what to do with their bodies. Its a tight rope to walk.

Really, because I am pretty sure you have told me to go ^^^^ myself on more than one occasion.:monkey5:monkey5:monkey5

It really wouldn't be. They are still free to chose. When nearly half the women getting abortions are using it as a form of birth control though there needs to be some form of change to help act as a deterent because preaching about protected sex obviously isn't working.

I hate that its being used as a form of birth control. That bothers the hell out of me. I agree there should be change but I'm not sure what the best route is.

In fairness protected sex is not being taught - abstinance is and that is the problem.

I'm coming for you Lonnie...

That's certainly one opinion. I find it interesting that the medical community disagrees, but then what do they know? :monkey3

Opinions are great for deciding how your family should proceed. It's the height of authoritarian arrogance to use that opinion to decide how other families proceed. I find it interesting that the left doesn't try to force people to have abortions or marry people of the same sex and so forth while some on the right are hellbent on the opposite.

Freedom. So simple.

The medical community disagrees? I have many many friends who are OB/GYNs, family practitioners, pediatricians, etc who would rightfully disagree with you. Many of them and many who perform the procedures, disagree with your stance. They see it as their job and not to try and judge but when life actually becomes life is still a philosophical practice. That's a slippery slope you are starting down....
