I don't think she is as "dumb" some are trying to paint her. Her performance during the convention, and the accolades she received for it, from both sides, disprove that claim. I think we will need to see how the debate goes before reaching any kind of conclusion about her communication abilities.

Her performance at the convention was just that- a performance (something all politicians do). Reading a teleprompter and answering questions during an interview are two different things. I'm not saying she's dumb, but reading a prepared speech doesn't make you smart or disprove your ignorance. I'll be interested to see how she does during the debate. I seriously hope she does better than in her interviews with Couric and Gibson. You can't watch those without cringing.

We're already set up for failure if half the country is predisposed to hate whatever half wins.

I'm ready to hate both too.

I just want whoever wins to help move us to some kind of energy solution and to not take too much out of my pocket. And to stay out of people's personal affairs.

I hate politics and the legal system. Both are so corrupt that it's becoming rather depressing.

That's my point as well. If one cannot handle pressure at an interview, I cannot imagine that same person handling pressure in other situations. And my dislike of her has nothing to do with a "fear of losing the election" as hoodonit implied. In fact, I think she has COST the Rep. party some votes.

Her addition just heightens my fears if her and McCain get office. McCain would do fine alone, but Palin... not so much in my mind.

I also believe that Obama will at least try to make things better, and I agree with his views... so that is where my vote will go.

I agree with this. I think McCain is fine. She is holding me back from voting for him.

Right on. Can you imagine what the effect of this whole economic mess would be like if McCain picked a more competent running mate like Romney? He is so well versed in economics that it would have seemed like this may have actually helped him. But it seems he may have picked someone who may lose more votes than bring in. As Obama soars in the polls due to the economy, McCain is left with this:

"Ultimately, what the bailout does is help those who are concerned about the health care reform that is needed to help shore up the economy– Oh, it’s got to be about job creation too. So health care reform and reducing taxes and reining in spending has got to accompany tax reductions."

-Sarah Palin in the infamous Couric interview

IMO wrong move.

He is not getting much coverage, but this will change Thursday night. He really is not as interesting as Obama or Palin, but then again, neither is McCain.

True that. He's a smart man and well versed in foreign policy, but he's not as interesting to the media or the people as Palin or Obama is. McCain doesn't seem to even get as much press as Palin. It's bad news when your VP steals the spotlight from you, especially when she is saying stuff like this.. :lol
