Too bad Palin rejected the invite to give her summary, although Rudy G. did fantastic.

Just a little point in public speaking 101 while debating someone. Obama did a great job of ending sentences with the statement "When I'm President." That's good, but he completely erased the benefit of that by continually saying "I agree with Senator McCain." Just an interesting observation that is just as important as body language. Little auditory cues like that can work tremendously when done properly.

The debate was a bit more spirited than I expected. It felt like Obama wanted to keep things rushing along while McCain wanted to engage him on the issues. This format does not suit Obama well. I can't wait for the Palin/Biden debates. With Biden running around contradicting everything Obama says, that should get interesting.

Both did a nice job--Obama looked very tired--McCain looked very relaxed .:emperor

I really didnt like McCains attitude. Kinda put me off entirely. I hate people like that.

Obama looked very alert. McCain looked very old. :D

The NBC announcer had to correct two factual errors by McCain immediately after the debate ended: Ted Kennedy is not in the hospital, and Ike did not offer to resign.

Ted Kennedy was admitted to the hospital earlier today. I saw it in a separate newscast. Maybe he's since been released, but that's just semantics.

He never said Ike offered to resign, he said he wrote two letters in preparation.

No, Sen. Kennedy was released before the debate. McCain just didn't get the word. Maybe he didn't tell anyone on his team what he intended to do -- that's his "maverick" style -- so they couldn't wave him off? And his Ike story was apocryphal.

Ike wrote the letter of resignation if the invasion of Normandy failed. Somebody needs to call NBC and let them know that we pulled that one off, hence no Ike resignation.

What wasn't authentic about the Ike story? It wasn't made up. It's true that Ike wrote two letters before D-Day. One for success and one in case it failed.

We'll probably hear more about the Ike story. There was a newspaper columnist who printed it in 1952. She said the resignation letter was in the custody of the White House, in its archives. Makes you wonder how it got there. The truth is out there, and we'll probably be bombarded with it over the next few days.

I think we're in agreement here. NBC is just playing semantics to try and discredit McCain. He was in hospital earlier, and has since been released. McCain showed compasion for his failing health. NBC decided to put a bias on it over the very small detail that he had been released since McCain offered him his prayers and wished him well. See how silly that is?

Even without that idiot Keith Olbermann msnbc is still slanted left.

Its tough for him to stand there with out his walker. :lol

Ain't it grand that the "compassionate" left can ridicule and mock John McCain's age, yet if you bring up anything about Obama's background or associations you are immediately labeled a racist.
