Are you a fan to where you have to own a tiny, puny firehydrant as the exclusive? or a fan of the character itself? If so...

You could always wait it out and get the regular for much cheaper.

.

Nah..as opposed to the majority, I really like the fire hydrant exclusive,Its like Abom is throwing Anything that comes under his hand at Hulk..I like it...My as well have been a kitchen sink...:lol

I also have a feeling there will be a International variant with darker skin.

me too...But if they produce another one with a different color, I'll see at that time wich one I prefer...Theres no way I'm gonna own two of those...

Either a darker skin or burned face. Definitely don't need two but if the International version is something dramatically different I could see getting another.

The paint variant will most likely come if the ES for the regular is high and they can't move them. That's the catalyst: we gotta wait for the ES on the regular.

Since I live in CA I'll be paying $574.61 after tax and shipping if I get it through Sideshow; but, if I get it from a dealer out of state I'll only pay $457.50 total with a savings of $117.11 all together.

I'll tell you why, same reason why comics and packs of cards remain at retail. Sure, some pieces will increase in value, but start charging aftermarket prices on all initial releases and you will lose your fan base and subsequently lose business as well. I don't know if anyone ever colected sports cards back in the 1990's, but around 1990 a new pack of cards (LEAF) came out where they were chargin $6-$10 a pack, retail. Everyone jumped on board. This was soon to be the end of sports card collectibility. The common, everyday collector was ran out of the hobby because they couldn't afford it any longer, so demand decreased.

Personally. I don't think it's sideshow's place to increase the price based upon expected after-market speculation of increased value, but they ultimately can charge whatever they want for their product.

I hope this increased price is due to the size of the item and not a sign of things to come. Increase retail on PF's over $300 and I'm not sure how many more I will be picking up.

I remember the days of LEAF and when those prices went sky rocketing, I still have Griffey Jr, Thomas, Sosa and many others from that set... I got a box before it went nuts!!!!! I thought 1989 Upper Deck really started all that shat and I was super pissed as a lil kid tryn to collect cards at the time!!!

I have all the Griffery Jr. Rookies, I was HUGE into baseball cards and Michael Jordan stuff mainly, I have the 1987 Fleer Jordan Rookie as well, not the Star card but the Fleer of that year...

Some basketball but not much, here's a shot with Allen Inverson Topps Finest RC, Kobe Bryant Topps Finest RC and the infamous Griffey Jr Upper Deck RC

The rest I have in boxes stored away along with some really old stuff, like 60's 70's and A LOT of 80's cards

I never really got into basketball cards, but you sound like me in terms of baseball cards. I have loads of unopened 80s baseball cards packs and boxes. Too many. Now they're just stored away away in the garage, along with my UD Griffey Jr. Rookie Card. :monkey2 Those were the days....

My baseball cards from 1989-1993 are all but worthless now. I've looked on Ebay, you can get boxes (36 packs) for under $20. I have three apple boxes full that I have no idea what to do with as I haven't been interested in sports cards for over a decade.

yeah I still recall when Skybox basketball cards came out and I was too broke to afford them, but sat in awe watching guys play High Card with $5-$7 packs. Those things ended up being so overprinted you cant give them away now ....

yes the hype on this collectible market will tank at some point just like they all do.
The best thing SS can do to minimize it when it happens IMO is keep moderately low ES's no matter how much they could potentially sell of an item.

I think Marvel ES's are still pretty good, but Star Wars ES's are too high to survive the crash.... hell they cant hold precrash values...

I don't see how it could possibly be that big. And I wouldn't want it that large, no matter the price

that pic is measured from the center of the base to the highest point of each pic. Im sure its off a little.
But by their specs Abomination is 5" wider than Cap is tall ... so maybe its not that far fetched? ...

... but you should def stay away Dave cause sheetrock anchors would not hold him ... :gun

so what are you guy's saying? that since he's the size of 4 caps, the fact that he's only twice the price is a bargain :lol
