He had to have character flaws to buy Palpatine's claim that all the Jedi were a threat. And if one of the most powerful Jedi, Mace, behaved curtly with him, this would make Palpatine's claims all the more convincing.

Anakin is the same kid who was so "sickeningly" good in Episode I, after all. His character flaws are the whole point of the Prequel Trilogy, right?

I read somewhere that Sam Jackson actually has a science degree. I don't see why an actor of his caliber has to be typecast as anything.

Jango's head remained in his helmet didn't it? So the helmet with a severed neck would be completely different than what would come with a full Jango.

Nope, it fell out while it was in the air. You only see the shadow though and it goes by pretty fast. I remember seeing some screen-grabs. Doesn't mean they still can't have a stump in there!

That pic is much better.

I know many say his eyes need to be spaced apart but if they just repaint them dark brown, he's a go for me.

I guess the eyes could use a little more bugging out but it's not that big a deal IMO.

That angle DOES make it look better... but if Sideshow wants to make it GREAT, they really need to make those eyes bigger.

I really love the Mace sculpt, the second pic does look better. When I saw the first one the paint job on the eyes was the only thing I could see that could be a little better. I just recently got George Washington 12" and if these SW figures are painted as well as him, I will have died and gone to heaven.

You can still tell that the left eye does look like SLJ's, but not the right eye...

The new angle doesn't improve the likeness of the original preview image that much. It still doesn't look 100% Sam Jackson IMHO.

I think it's great, and he IS scowling in this sculpt, so the eyes will "squint" down a bit, as of course eyes do in real life when anyone scowls. I'm really excited about this figure!

Someone said something about "scanning". If you're looking for figures manufactured from scanning, definitely try Gentle Giant. I think SS has addressed this before. The Sideshow artists, I believe, do the more artistic sculpting by choice. I'd be surprised if we EVER see a "scanned" figure done by SS, but who knows? The sculpting kinda makes them more "artistic", methinks. Scanned figures look as dead on in actor likeness as a scan can make them, but there's not much artistry in them, either. I do like the Harry Potter busts by GG, which were done from scans. The likenesses of those actors as their movie characters are as near perfect as can be, IMO. However, I don't own any of them.

I prefer and like the sculpting aspect of it as opposed to scanning, but of course that sometimes means that the likeness isn't going to be a 100% "picture perfect" likeness, in everyone's opinion. Anyone with a computer can "scan" and then tell a machine to make the thing. But sculpting takes a human being time and talent. It's the "differences" that make life spicey!
