if the XM Venom was around the same price, I'd give a SLIGHT edge to the XM only for the Mcfarlane head alone. No way in hell is he 2x as good as the Prime to me.

I would also give the slight edge to CM studios Venom. But I also agree that it's not by miles only a very small margin. I think you simply can't go wrong with that P1 Venom at all. Either one of these would make me smile to own

Surely not. XM are alone in that department. But mind you when it's in hand it might shine a different light. P1 has been very consistent considering how many sculpts have been produced

I doubt XM would change from closed-mouth to open-mouth either. Their adjustments, from what I've read on the XM thread, are small changes regarding the dimensions of the head/mouth from the prototype to the final product, so it isn't really a big change of design either.

Nevertheless, the attainability of the XM or lack of, made me go the route of P1 and it will still be a winner. Still trying to figure out whether he'll fit in a 2x1/3x1 BESTA and whether the base/tendrils won't be too wide/deep. I'm worried about how good their spider-man might look because I like my signed EX SSC Spidey and don't really want to get rid of it for the P1 if it turns out 10x better. Word is, some people got to see a sneak peek at the model but they've taken it down everywhere.

Yeah, the only thing I could think of is two 2x1 or 3x1 in a back-to-back setup with the statue rotated at an angle so that the 27" width could fit, but even that is extremely difficult since the BESTA width is only 22", plus he may not look nice displayed at an angle or sideways like that.

Right I have four, 3x1 (the tallest Besta) set up so height isn't the issue it's the depth and width more than anything. I'm tempted to take a chance with him and use some RP I've been stashing away.

PAX seems to be the best bet, I only wish they had an option of clear glass doors like the BESTAs. Trying to add up the costs for custom doors.

You can try a Stuva, i think the glass of the besta is working on it

Pax work great. You just have to have two big acrylic panels cut at an acrylic shop. IKEA sells the door frames.

They discontinued the Stuvas. Right before I bought new shelves too. That's what I was going to get, but I'm happy with my Bestas. Even if it does limit what pieces I can get.

They always discontinue the good stuff here in the states for some reason. Stuva shelves, Tombo doors etc.
