It seems that people are choosing to be willfully ignoring the main point of contention here.

What I'm saying is that this is nothing new for P1. It's only new to Alien collectors.

I collect Alien, Predator, Terminator, Batman & Transformers.

All lines have been hit by weird P1 practices from the start, and it makes one realize that P1 is in it for the money.
I own items that were repainted, reposed, re-released and therefore realize that P1 EX numbers ONLY reflect interest at the time of PO. After seeing your 5th Batman repaint, or 4th Optimus re-release... you get numb to it.

Your viewpoint is valid, but think of how it looks to the others. They see someone who already has the piece (admittedly with some damage, but it's not irreparable and you've decided to keep it) and they're being told not to buy it for themselves. That the moral outcome is for you to own it and for them not to own it at all, even though they can.

That's just never going to convince them. Whatever happens to this hobby (and I think the global economic situation will do far more damage than things like this), people will continue doing what's right for them with the opportunities they're given until those opportunities run out.

On the plus side, if another company somehow manages to score the license for large-format Alien statues, you can bet they'll be looking at Prime 1 to see where the bar is. Before they came along and showed everyone what a milkable cash cow this license could be when handled aggressively, this is what we were getting:

Cynical business practices aside, I'd rather have a proper Alien than a salamander surfing on a piece of pink goo.

Collectors who take advantage of this are supporting and encouraging this behavior from manufactures, leading to further degradation of the hobby.

I think its a slime move by Prime1 for sure. But if I missed this the first time I would probably jump on it now.. And then t=never tell anyone I did

You are a special case Burtial as you got a pretty messed up piece and no replacement. So this is messed up and you gave all the other great reason that the original owners are getting screwed

They should not have called the original piece limited, They should have said, "Big Chap Alien statue with Limited wall and base"


Really its up to those who think this is a bad practice not to buy anymore of their pieces. But if the others dont care and they sell a ton more then the majority has spoken.

This statue bubble has got to burst at sometime anyways. Things like this will help speed up the process.

The same could be said for the opposite side of the argument. People who don't want others to have one are only in it for themselves.

I'm not saying it's ideal, but people should invest in crypto if they want to make a quick buck or get custom pieces if all they want is exclusivity.

You are missing the entire point.
This will lead to further cutting corners and questionable business practices. You will start to get worse paint apps. You will get cheaper construction. This is about greed. And es in es for a reason. The only reason people wanted it is because they heard from collectors like me about how good it is. I'd take pictures and show it off. Collecting the item and being in the hobby community is just as important. The limited pieces give another level of value. It is that same value that makes you want it so badly. If a company keeps doing this kind of thing the company goes to crap.

Well another big f-you by P1 just happened. They redesigned the bust and made it better. I HATED that ribbed sht they put around the shoulder holes and guess what? They got rid of it on this new one. They also made it more STABLE!

Man I hate Prime 1 atm. Are they going to replace our busts that aren't fit for purpose? Mine fell over the other day, fortunately I saw it going and grabbed it!

I think anyone who starts making good points is quarantined from posting on their main page. I'm still amazed we can both post on the collectors' group.

I used to defend p1 too. All the time. I stood by the chap no matter what people said. And my chap is in perfect condition lol. We will see what queen studios does with the license.

Infinity and Queen are asking some very fair prices for their new Jurassic stuff and that's not a cheap license. I really hope we see more from them on the AVP front.

I've just noticed that all my comments have been deleted too and I'm blocked. Paid a crap load for their big chap, supported them and as soon as I criticize their move on this re-issue business It's like I don't exist to them. Like the crew of the Nostromo, we're expendable to this company
