Yup :lol

I did like how they incorporated
HRG girlfriend face artwork into David's experiment on Shaw
but that went nowhere either so whatever lol

What's baffling me is that people, including Mark Kermode, are complaining that this film ruins the mysteriousness of the Alien. This after Jim Cameron turned them into ants!?

Plenty of good summer fare to come:

War For The Planet of The Apes (July 14)
Valerian (July 21)
Dunkirk (July 21)
Death Note (August 25)

That's pretty slim for a full summer. All the goodies came early this year. Goodies is a relative term.

What a piece of prequel turd this was.

Ugly stupid and boring.

Adds nothing to anything avoid at all costs.

The only think I found mildly interesting was how much they made Fass look and sound like Lance.

Oh and Fass is still a great actor.

That's it, good day sir.

There's that word again: ugly. Is this movie truly 'ugly'...? That's an interesting choice in wording.

Sorry it sucked. Guess I'm glad I didn't go with the missus. She would've held me to Shades of Gray 3 or something.

I doubt it was meant to "go anywhere", it was just to show how truly psychopathic David had become,
to use the only person who had ever shown him any compassion in such a horrible way.

Scott and Logan wasted
Shaw.
That character could have made the film truly horrifying.

When David began greeting the
6-Ft-Tall Neomorph
I was convinced that was a
transformed Shaw.

Scott and Logan are just too old to write these types of films. It was a massive mistake not bringing back Lindelof.

Ok ill say this once more for everyone to understand...

noomi rapace DIDNT want to be part of this movie!!!
They had to write around her. She had some problems making prometheus. She didnt want to have a role in this
That was leaked very early on. How is it bad writing if the actress said no

Just got back from the theatre today. I don't really have much to say about the film that hasn't been said here already. It certainly wasn't bad enough for me to feel cheated when watching it, but not good enough for me to care about seeing it again or buying it on Blu-ray/DVD whenever it comes out. I thought it was entertaining (for the most part), but I was ultimately unsatisfied by how it didn't answer anything from Prometheus... and yeah, the CGI for the neomorphs in particular was surprisingly mediocre. I wasn't really bothered by how underdeveloped the main cast were since I never expect memorable human characters from a 2010's horror film. :lol

Not horrible but not great, IMHO - 6.5/10.

But I didn't see the first Alien when it came out in 1979 since I'm only 21, so what do I know? :monkey3

Are the attacks gory or scary ? The neomorphs attacking the humans?

Most of the gore is kind of implied. The only time you really see any blood is when the neomorph first kills the victim. The shower scene with the xenomorph was relatively bloody though.

Could be I just expected more gore because, after all, modern horror usually relies solely on the gore. But it's not a downer for me since I'm anything but a "gore-aholic". :lol

Did they ever explain what happened to the Deacon after Prometheus in any post-film material? Pretty sure the engineers had murals of it on the walls. :dunno

Poor thing is on its own on a distant planet that doesn't or probably never will connect with anything in the Alien canon ever again.

Depends...

Do you like female head decapitations? :wink1:

I did expect more gore after a couple comments of it being super gory.

Game of thrones is gorier than this.

Still, the gore was nice.

This one was great, not because it was explicit or actually very gory, but because
the head floating and rotating on the water with her eyes open was pretty cool

Yeah they never explained Deacon. That's probably my biggest gripe with the film.
