Yeah they never explained Deacon. That's probably my biggest gripe with the film.

There was actually a pretty good resolve for the deacon in one of the dark horse comics. I think it was Prometheus fire and stone? Can't remember, but that whole storyline (fire and stone, life and death) is extremely interesting. More so than this crap in covenant. Hell, aliens defiance is doper than what crap we got.

The AI narrative was pretty one note.

The double Walter/David climax was utterly predictable.

I've seen ruptured vericose veins on old ladies have more gore.

The last Xeno was really bad looking in spots while ok in others but yeah the albino was cooler looking especially when he was standing behind the girl.

What is so beautiful in this movie it's nothing but dark hallways and rooms on the planet and a boring ship in space.

The shower kill was my favorite followed by the back rupture.

The action climax was really bad.

Thanks for that info! :) I don't read any of the comics, so I would've never known about it otherwise.

SSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSs yeah...

I may have to re-watch Prometheus, I'm thinking Covenant looked better, but admittedly I haven't watched Prometheus in a while, the one thing I do remember is that the Engineers in Covenant looked pretty bad, in Prometheus they looked like that David sculpture at the beginning of Covenant.

The only thing that this movie has going for it is that it doesn't have retarded and unjustifiable script moments like Prometheus, perhaps at the expense of more interesting themes exploration.

The more I think about it, the more I realize they barely did anything with the topics of Prometheus.

Well, I was invited to a second screening tomorrow, will watch Prometheus tonight like Rory suggested and see Covenant tomorrow.

Can someone tell me more about the albino alien? Big, small, baby, adult, precursor to A L I E N alien? I think I've seen three different alien types in the trailers... is that right?

What's the one with the side of his face messed up exposing teeth? Is that even one?

Exactly my thoughts.

You've seen it in the run, pray trailers. White rounded face no visible features until it opens its big metal spikey mouth. It lurches towards camera briefly in the trailer and also it's the creature you see hunched over a bloody body in the stills. It's tall, humanoid and the best thing in the movie.

The albino is the one that is born after one sniffs the spores off the little ball things from the trailers, it comes out of the back of the host, rips it open with the spikes of its back, it's born as a little critter, not like a chestburster in a snake-like body, but a tiny bipedal body, there are 2 of them, one is killed while in teenage(?) stage, the other one manages to survive but it's killed by Curdrup later on.

Edit: The other albino is born through the throat of the host, it's pretty cool.

I don't think it's a precursor to Alien since it's killed before they escape and David only sneaks one facehugger back into the Covenant, which is what turns into the Xeno from the movie, in a classical chestburster manner, except this Xeno doesn't have a snake-like body at birth either, it's born as a mini me too.

There's an albino creature with metal teeth? Does he have a tattoo on his forehead? :lol

Ok ill say this once more for everyone to understand...

noomi rapace DIDNT want to be part of this movie!!!
They had to write around her. She had some problems making prometheus. She didnt want to have a role in this
That was leaked very early on. How is it bad writing if the actress said no

But they only needed her for a few scenes - which she still shot ("The Crossing" prologue).

Had they made Shaw
the Neomorph/monster
of this piece, they wouldn't have needed Rapace for that but rather a stuntwoman and CGI.

You're welcome. But make sure you check out the whole order of the storyline. There's a fire & stone, life and death series, and those are part of three different titles Prometheus, aliens, and avp. The aliens defiance series is a standalone that's pretty legit so far. The whole continuity may be somewhat confusing, but I'm dead sure there's internet spot that'll explain the order. Check em out.

Scott and Logan wasted
Shaw.
That character could have made the film truly horrifying.

When David began greeting the
6-Ft-Tall Neomorph
I was convinced that was a
transformed Shaw.

Scott and Logan are just too old to write these types of films. It was a massive mistake not bringing back Lindelof.

interesting theory, but
there were only two neo births seen at that time and two neo's, so I just took it to mean it was the throat burster grown up vs. shaw, but it is an interesting hypothesis

That internet only prologue was a spoiler that shouldn't been released just for stupid marketing purposes lol

having now seen it i think the massive marketing and 'spoiler' footage which was released (not to mention the near 10 mins of the movie show after the Alien day screening) leads me to think that they are doing hail mary passes with this. As I said, I didn't hate it, but I didn't love it.

What u say makes sense but at first when the script was being written and before they did pre production, Noomi was not included at all 100% removed from the movie.
She wasnt even gonna be on set. Like, at all.

The prologue was probably a favor that she did that took a say to shoot.

Hmmmm this could be the half the reason they deviated so much from the plot of Prometheus.

That and the fact the dumb fans complained there weren't enough Xenos.

I still remember that Ridley's early plans was to have the movie deal with shaw. I remember the early interviews

They definitely wanted to use her more.

She definitely crapped everything for everyone
