Colonial Marines had a big role in Blomkamp's pitch and I'll take them a million times over both the crews from the Covenant and the Prometheus.

Aliens vs Cannibals

The only directors I trust are James Cameron and Christopher Nolan.
Zack Snyder is Ok I guess, but maybe under supervision.

I don't like Chappie, I don't like Elysium, I don't like Die Antwoord, I don't like Neill Blomkamp.

I don't want to see an old, bloated Ripley. I don't want to see an old, bloated Hicks. I don't want to see an old, bloated Newt. Let those three characters RIP. Let the Alien franchise RIP. All it would be is the Neill Blomkamp aesthetic whilst ripping off ALIENS. Nobody needs to see that.

Ridley Scott should be finished, but they'll probably give him a third Alien movie.

Newt come to mommy!

This movie was a huge letdown. More screen time spent on pianos and flutes than Alien carnage. You could see the switch coming a mile away. I should have known better putting my faith in Kenny ****ing Powers

But flute playing androids are so thought provoking, it allows for a meaningful exploration of our subconscious bravado with a metric of self discovery audaciousness.

We don't need no stinkin carnage lol

And that right there is why you can't have movies with thoughtful or intelligent ideas make money nowadays... all people seem to want is MOAR ACSHUN AND GOREEEEEEE...
Ah well, at least its global performance is pretty good: 117.8 million total is not so bad, is it?

Sorry abake but I don't think International will be saving this one like it did Pro.

concur, you'd expect the international receipts would be higher with it being out a week longer. It opened with 46MM overseas weekend IIRC, now the intl total is 81MM, but it took a week to double....probably see a large drop off and here I predict it stuggles with the forthcoming week and weekend. With only a 36MM opening weekend gross, they will be lucky to make back the 97MM budget from the US alone. I really would love to know how much money Fox spent on marketing, it must be OVER 100MM more than the budget so in grand scheme, this thing is a flop.
