My justification (aka ******** reasoning) is things that take longer to form tend be of better quality than somehing slapped together quickly. Like if you pop some pork in the microwave it's gonna cook but it'll be gross. But if you slow roast that pork its delicious. Since this is a protomorph, it's quick and not as stable than the more perfected xenomorph which has a longer gestation period and is stronger. Are you buying it yet? I hope so :lol

:lol :lol

You just described my wife's pork loin recipe lol

What you said actually does make sense but then I can only imagine if he wants to create the super super super perfect organism that **** will take a year to be born lol

Morph is a title!

Oh ok thanks Wor-Gar. Let me see if I'm using it correctly ... so first was the neomorph, then the protomorph and eventually the Bigchap(morph)? Which means that whilst all of those 'morphs' remain unidentified alien lifeforms they can be referred to by the generic term xenomorphs! Head cannon saved :yess:

Re: Prometheus Sequel : Paradise?

Finally catching this later today. I am bummed that it seems like it will be yet another lackluster effort in this series. Once upon a time ALIEN films ranked just barely below Star Wars for me. My anticipation for Alien 3 was borderline TPM anticipation. You'd think that giving Ridley Scott a blank check to revisit this universe with today's technology would be a guaranteed homerun. Oh well, I'm hoping that it's far better than Skull Island and if it's at least as good as Prometheus then I imagine that I'll enjoy it even if most don't.

Jye was so amped for Monkey madness but monkey movie was no bueno. Then Jye was so amped for alien madness but alien movie was nicht gut.

Now Jye is so amped about... Wonder Woman... but Woman will likely be ぺけ

It goes to show you how bad Kong was when Power Rangers and AC were better!

Right now I think that 2017 has been a bit of a bust. Even Logan to me was merely a "good" film that had great acting in it, but it wasn't itself a "great film."

Ghost in the Shell - enjoyable but only slightly above average
John Wick 2 - enjoyable but forgettable
Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 - by the book, nothing special
Split - probably the best surprise of the year so far but still in the "good but not great" category
Kong: Skull Island - just bad
Lego Batman - great opening act but just "okay" second and third acts
Beauty and the Beast - haven't seen yet

and now Covenant. A very low bar for it to hit it this point.

"ALIENS bashers?" Oh boy apparently I have a lot to catch up on in this thread. :lol But like I said in the RO thread people bashing ALIENS, calling Cameron a "hack," etc., is nothing new. Wrong opinions of course (just like the alt.radical film critics that try to bash RO ;)) but eh, what can you do? :D

I myself had a very low bar set for AC. I knew what to expect going in, and I still was disappointed in it, as an 'alien franchise' film. As many said as a stand alone sci-fi movie it's decent and works. But when you tie in the alien story it gets really muddled.

You forgot Power Rangers lol

Muddled and sadly predictable.

Then when she started swinging around that ship I was officially done lol

yeah that first part of the 'climax' sequence was rather dull. Only thing which would have been better once back on the ship was to show Walter making finger puppets....

But Alien = T2 in terms of being the pinnacle of their respective bilogy and source material, which is ironic because both Aliens and T2 are Cameron and have the annoying kid.

T1 and Aliens are for dumb 80'sheads.

T2ers should be on the same side as Alieners.

A Dev close you eyes :lol

Nah you don't have too you have read this all before ;)

Lets get this T2 talk the F out of here. That above post is just crazy talk ;) I know its all opinion... But it's still NUTS ;)

ALIEN and Terminator are fanfreakingtasic Horror Sci Fi movies.

Aliens is a fanfreakingtastic Action Sci Fi film that is about as good as a sequel gets.

T2 is an average remake of it's predecessor. It's all a shinny toy but lacks originality.

Granted Aliens ripped off a few things from ALIEN but T2 basically is a shot by shot retelling only bigger and more expensive.

Don't want to dump on T2 too much. I still like it.. But I think it is beyond overrated. I even felt that way when I first saw it. Granted my expectations were through the roof. But the GnR video for "You could be Mine" spoiled all the cool T1000 scenes and there just was not much left after that. I never thought the action was all that great. Like I said it was a retread of the original only not as good. Give me T1 Cop station and Tech Noir scene any action scene in T2.

IMO Cameron peeked with Terminator and ALIENS. It's been slowly going down hill ever since.

JAWS has spoken :)

Absolutely plebeian.

Some believe Cameron will peak with Avatar 3.

Balok, can I have a good hardy laugh at that...?
