Right now I think that 2017 has been a bit of a bust. Even Logan to me was merely a "good" film that had great acting in it, but it wasn't itself a "great film."
Ghost in the Shell - enjoyable but only slightly above average
John Wick 2 - enjoyable but forgettable
Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 - by the book, nothing special
Split - probably the best surprise of the year so far but still in the "good but not great" category
Kong: Skull Island - just bad
Lego Batman - great opening act but just "okay" second and third acts
Beauty and the Beast - haven't seen yet
and now Covenant. A very low bar for it to hit it this point.
Absolutely plebeian.
In this corner weighing 450lbs is BALLS the CLAWS JAWS along with his trainer Super Fly Glue the Jew Spielberg!
He will be facing off against the current reigning forum champion coming in at a svelt 180lbs a-dev the 'fightin irish' bait-dev along with his trainer the one and only Canadian Euro Trash master himself...James Cameron!
Tonights referee is none other than Di the Fab the io....DiFabio.
Ok fellows keep it clean no pug gifs, grey jokes or making fun of Snikt.
Ding Ding Ding
better watch out Jaws, if you beat a-dev I'm up next!
By the way T2 is the very definition of a "common" sequel.. Bigger effects, more of everything, basic rehash of the original and yet not as good.
Take that!!!
Hmmm I have enjoyed this year so far... Granted nothing has blown me out of the water but I have yet to walk out of the theater disappointed. Of the films I seen there has only been 1 really bad one Which was Underworld Blood Wars - Now that is an Awful film.
Three stand outs so far with
Split - Loved this film. LOVED IT! Even without the twist I thought this was some great stuff.
Logan - I really like this.. I don't know what your issue is In a series of flawed films this one gets the most right IMO
Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 - By the Book sure... But the book was very good.
The Rest have been just fine.
Life - 80's style horror schlock and enjoyed it.
John Wick 2 - Not as good as the first but it left me looking forward to the sequel
Kong: Skull Island - Enjoyed it the first time... Then all you jerks ruined it for me when I saw it a second time.
Fate of Furious - Goofy Bond like film... Somehow I enjoyed it I am embarrassed to say.
ALIEN Covenant - Enjoyed it very much. far from perfect but what film in a series of six (not counting 2 AvP films) is??
.
There has not been a Ghostbusters yet Underworld was close)
Or a massive disappointment like BvS
Or massive Average films like X-men Age of Apocalypse
Early 2016 did have The Witch and The Green Room though... But that was really it.
So 2017 is wining so far IMO.
I enjoy watching T3 a lot. Theres something about that cast that i love. I love how goofy and idiotic the action is.
T3 Is one of the comfirmest movies ever made.
I remember T3 came out around the same time as matrix 2 and i have fond memories of watching them both back to back in theaters

T1 and T2 are the same and very different at the same time- both are great- I can't honestly decide which one I like more...
However I liked Terminator Salvation so there you go...
