Forget the Alien's origins, why couldn't Ridley at least kept with the tradition of naming the androids alphabetically in this film?

Ash
Bishop
Call
David

Walter??

David and Walter are backhanded homages to the, at this point, credited-only producers David Giler and Walter Hill.

That makes sense I guess but it did ruin a nice little theme they had going

Some spiders can kill u. They have fangs.
Ants wont harm you, and the ones that bite will just leave a sting and thats all.

Are you sure Ant's won't harm a person? A caught what I am pretty sure was a doco on TV one night where in the jungle some ants are big enough to carry a full grown person to their hive and kill them. In the show they had footage of a Russian solider who suffered that exact sad fate. Was very creepy to watch, with only his feet sticking out in the end.

Just got back from watching it, I didn't think it was that bad... the white alien (Neomorph?) was creepy as hell.

Why do you asume it identifies as an alien? Maybe it identifies as a whale.... this thread disgusts me

Yeah I dunno why really but Spiders freak me the **** out and yet I have no problem with, say, ants.

And just to add to your spider phobia. As a fellow Irishman I was pretty happy that up until very recently there were no harmful spiders in Ireland. We are now over run with false widow spiders, their bite can leave a large decaying hole in your skin. Seriously they are everywhere. And you will only see them at night with a torch because they wait for darkness before they come out. I counted 15 of them in the garden last night and 5 inside the house. It's been covered up by the media as to how dangerous they can be.

:horror :horror :horror :horror

Whatever you do stay away from those spray chemicals that promise to kill spiders for weeks and months.

They have an ingredient that actually attracts more spiders to your house....like WTF.

If you're brave try it spray the entire perimeter and then let the fun begin lol

I learned the hard way.

Nobody listen to this guy, he's just trying to get you killed by ants.

I just thought it was a neat ending, where he doesn't even try to play along with the "building a log cabin" thing. :lol

I have bad taste in movies, sorry ;_;
Ah, yes. It was a lot of fun. :lol
David is the only reason to rewatch this crap, like with Freddy bein' the only reason to rewatch "Nightmare on Elm Street" sequels.

Only if you don't count A3 yet count AR. And nobody should do that. NOBODY! :lecture

Indeed. The obvious fakeness of such CGI always creep me out.

Amazes me that they created this beauty with practical fx, then used a horrible ****ing rag doll CGI creature in the movie...
This single photo is better than the entire Covenant movie..

I love the "unfamiliar and terrifying places" and "amazing sets" parts of the article.
Both are lies. :lol

I thought it was odd just how quick Ripley Jr. conceived her plan.

“There’s something onboard”

“Quick to the Airlock"

Yes, very rushed. Facehugger takes five minutes to impregnate the dude, chestburster comes out soon after, takes another five minutes to become full size Xeno. Then they give us a Cliff's Notes version of the finales of both A3 and A1 without Daniels so much as breaking a sweat. The days of a single Xeno wiping out the entire cast are long gone.

:lecture I thought that was because Daniels (like the audience) had clearly seen Alien and Aliens at the cinema or something and that's why she immediately knew that the airlock was the tried and tested method :monkey3 wait what do you mean covenant is supposed to be set in the same universe as those movies .... oh ok then maybe there was like a manual on board the ship with steps to follow in the event of third act emergency when a protobigchapmorph gets on board? ... wait this is a prequel to those movies but but but nothing makes sense anymore! :gah:

I'm only playing! I don't hate this movie anymore now I have decided it's not canon and it was more enjoyable than a lot I have seen recently. I also get by the narrative issues (which the novel might correct?) by pretending the film is being told from David's perspective and he is simply being an unreliable narrator putting is 'human's are stupid and deserve to be extinct' spin on events ... and that's why the covenant crew mostly make bad decisions ... mostly

Yes I still like the movie in spite of it's flaws and "non-canon" status as well. But it's like they looked at TFA and said "I guess the best way to win old fans back is to just hit the same beats as the original film but with a more rushed finale." Yes Han looked at Starkiller Base and said "So how do we blow it up, there's always a way," compared to ANH when he considered an attack on a smaller base to be "suicide." But Han gets to say that because he had already helped blow up two of the stupid things already! A prequel with all new characters should never be going through the motions of hard fought victories achieved by characters that didn't even exist in the timeline yet.
