Super Freak
Especially David being the one...
Spoilers were posted 12/18/16. Was from those who was at the test screenings and saw a rough cut of the film. There are also people "in the know" over at AvPGalaxy. They were the one who broke the news about James Franco and they also claim these leaks are legit. The trailer footage pretty much confirms it all.
HUGE SPOILERS for the entire movie:
- Waterston, Danny McBride and Michael Fassbender are all good in it and that the central characters of the film are good
- However the side-cast is your typical cannon fodder material and the film has some editing/pacing issues
- David is the villain of the film. Aside from the Xenomorphs, he's the main bad guy. He's obsessed with creating the perfect organism.
- He's the sole inhabanet of the planet the crew land on, which is called "Paradise"
- It's the home world of the Engineers but David killed off all of them with the black goo
- You hardly see any Engineers outside of the corpses scattered around the planet
- Shaw is seen only in flashbacks. She's dead before the movie begins and she's the one who sent the beacon to the Covenant ship to help them find the planet
- When David first tells the crew of Covenant what happened to Shaw, he claims she died when the Jockey ship crashed on the planet.
- Later we find out David killed her or exposed her to black goo for testing
- New type of Xeno: The Neomorphs are a new type of Xeno's and they burst out of a guys back and another ones throat
- They run on all fours at first like the dog alien from Alien 3, then stand upright later on. They also have fang teeth and spike things on their back/tail that they can shoot.
- Airbourne black spores infecting the crew is what creates these Neomorphs
- David has a creepy shop of horrors underneath the Engineer citadel set up. Brownish looking room with failed experiments.
- Basically he ****s over the Covenant crew when he finds them so he can use them for Xeno experiments.
- David is also pretty much the one who creates the first facehugger and Xeno that we know and love.
- He's responsible for creating the proto eggs and facehugger because he's been experimenting with the black goo since they arrived on the Planet.
- David is able to lure a character into his egg room and exposes them to a classic facehugger.
- This spawns the Proto-Xenomorph. It's not the classic one we know, but the closest to it. It is more animal in nature.
- David can also communicate with the Neomorphs and he tries to protect them since he's the "father"
- Movie ends in a way that's open to a sequel but has no tie to Alien.
Thank you for that. Exactly What i expected.
Basically Scott and co ditched the whole engineer, epic angle for this rehash of alien/aliens and unused story points of alien engineers the original Prometheus script.
They could have had the best of both worlds... Damn What a wasted opportunity to make something really original and new with alien.
Well this is gonna look very cool tho.
Well, these spoilers sound terrible.
Especially David being the one...
Where does david get a body?
Is it a new david in the trailer?wtf is going on?
So this new movie wont answer any of the questions from prometheus then
WellIts not a bad concept but its really cheating to have them getting rid of the engineers in a flashback.
I was hoping for a movie that would show us David and Shaw adventures and interactions with the engineers culture.
The climax would have been David and Shaw destroying them with their own weapons, the newborn xenos as we know them.
Well at first i tought they were going to show them arriving on an already dead planet so i guess thats a bit better that we do get a slice of the Prometheus storyline follow up.
Poor Rapace.
The meeting she had when they told her that they would not follow the Prometheus storyline and just kill her off must have been something...
Well
for starters, I don't like the fact that the engineers are gone at all, why would you build up the theme of the search for answers from "god", if after *actually* finding "god", you're not gonna get any answers anyway? Imagine everything the engineers would know, it would've been very interesting to explore that angle.
I hope they still explore that storyline and it's not just another member movie.
This will probably be a good scary horror movie.
It will probably have great visuals and great effects. Style over substance
Story will be predictable.
So literally, exactly the same case as star wars the force awakens.
Its simply a commercial and budget move.
Prometheus did not perform as Fox wanted.
Reviews were mixed too. So its back to basics.
Lets get rid of yur mumbo jumbo Ridley the audience just want to be scared with the xenomorph.
Shaw and David in a living populated engineer planet would have cost way more too.
Then you have Fassbender who is now a bankable star so lets make him the star of the show by putting him in the middle of it all.
Prometheus took its roots in Alien but it Will go another way... Yeah right Ridley lol
The guy was probably sincère but he ****ed up big time when he tought he could create a new franchise based only on some visuals and concepts he wanted to see on screen and then ask a screen writer to flesh a story around these.

Ridley f ed up the moment he got LOST writer Damon Lindelof.
Thats when ridley's story went off the rails
Eh, I will go see it once in theatres and see how I go. I hope to be surprised in some areas but, as others have already said here, it looks like a by the numbers Alien remake that apparently a lot of fans wanted from Prometheus to begin with.
That begs the question though. Do you think pandering to nostalgia from the older films hurts a franchise in the long run or are studios just giving what the masses want to see aka putting butts in seats ? Is it just the hardcore fans getting disappointed ?
And as for TFA I thought that was the movie SW fans wanted all along in the prequels, a film that felt like the original trilogy ? Its not what they wanted after all after seeing it ? Did SW fans even know what they wanted from 7 to begin with ?
