Prototype vs. Actual Product (NECA)

Wow...well, Neca has been suffering from that lately, specially with lame characters like this one, remember the Planet Terror line? That was terrible...I'm beginning to think that soon Neca will suffer the fate of McToys and Mezco will become the best company that produces 8" scale figs...

You have to shop around for the right paint job.
Weather its NECA, McFarlane, or Mezco, which is why I prefer to purchase at brick and mortar stores over on-line where you get what they send you, cross eyed or not.

That said most of my NECA figures look great. And the "Prototype" pic will ALWAYS look better than finished product.

I highly doubt that. You knock NECA but praise Mezco, who's likenesses have gotten worse? They had the greatest 6" line ever with Comic Hellboy but dropped it. And the Movie Hellboy figures went from amazing to bleh...

But it was making money. I as other couldn't find those figures anywhere. There was so much potential. But Heroes figures are making a fortune? There are at least 20 pegs LOADED at the 2 TRUs I go to...

Saw Stuntman Mike at Suncoast this past Saturday, and he looked every bit as bad as the one in Crawfords review.

99% of the time. There are rare cases where a company actually IMPROVES some stuff that makes the Actual Product superior to the Prototype. Rare, like I said.. but it does happen.

The thing is, I don't think anyone expects for the Actual Product to look exactly like the Prototype. Most of the time the Actual product is near enough to satisfy people. But in this case, the Actual Product doesn't even come close. I mean not even remotely close to the Prototype.

Nah, Mezco has never been that great. There sculpts always end up cartoony, even in a realistic line like Hellboy (movie) or Heroes (Horrible in person!) or Cinema of Fear. Until they end up realistic, they won't end up the best.

I got Beetlejuice who was alright I cant find any problem I also got Regan who is completely fine I was too afraid to buy Stuntman mike tho... I wish he was in his jacket to then I probably would have just got him anyway so at least people would know who he was!!!

I wonder why they didn't go for the iconic pose in bed...
The spider walk is creepy on film, but in the figure...looks pretty lame!
