Yeah where have you been? Was it you that went on a mission trip? I can't remember.

I did not go on a mission trip, but about the time i stopped posting, someone did (cant remember who).

I just took a break from collecting and coming to the forum. Had so much going on in life that i needed to prioritize. Finished all of my commitments to Uncle sam and became a homeowner. All of the stuff that happened in my life was good for a change. I am glad to be back. I didnt realized how much i missed everyone here until i posted yesterday.

This whole trying to kill the aftermarket plain and simple greed that hurts the consumer.

EVERY SINGLE game in the used section of a website or store had to have been bought for retail at least once before it could reach the aftermarket.

So when a company sell, for example, a million copies for $10 they (and of course the retailer and distributer and all those involved) get 10 million dollars revenue. they've made their money on the game, done and dusted.

IF the game isn't good enough to keep, people (who paid for the game when it was new) trade it in and that allows those who can't afford it at retail to buy it for less.

All Customers win and Publishers win becuase they sold that used game originally at retail.
I would say customer win and used game retailer win. I don't see how a publisher wins, are you saying people wouldn't have bought it if they couldn't trade it in after? That's a assumption. Also how many people would have bought it new instead of used if they didn't have the choice?

Those gifs are trolling and will be reported.

I don't have anyone on my ignore list right now, but you've made it. You seriously need a hug man.

He's like a drug addict, he can't help himself.

I sold all my stuff and became a home owner. Then I got married and had two kids and sold that house and bought a bigger house. :lol

I stopped collecting as well. To me I was pissing my money away on something I stuck on a shelf. Now I buy diapers and formula and wipe hineys. :rock

Welcome back. I always enjoyed the hiney in your avatar. :lol

They sold every used game already for full price, how is that not winning?

Less. If they can't afford it full price then that isn't gonna change just because there aren't any used copies at a lower price, they'll just not get it entirely.

I would have never bought assassins creed 3 (new) if i didnt get assassins creed 2 used. I did not like Assassins creed 1 (new) and traded it in for credit to elder scrolls (used), which in turn led me to buy Skyrim (new)..its the circle of gaming to me.

When you hear negative reviews about a game, and you are unsure if it's worth the purchase, it's better to go buy it used and if you don't like it to just return it for a refund.

I am beginning to think most people just liked the avatar...what about me? I have feelings too! lol.

I hear you about the money. My wife and I are trying to start a family, i bet that makes me stop collecting again lol.

Owning a home is the biggest money pit ever. Every time we get ahead, something comes up that costs more than the last thing.

Well seeing how there is no statical data to back that up its an assumption at this point.

No one truely knows what the landscape would be without used games, but we start learning.

PREACH IT BROTHER PREACH IT

******* the government and their taxes.

It's safe to assume with fair certainty that customers are the ones losing out.

That applies to everything when an option is taken away. In this case the option of buying it cheaper as a used copy.

That's the beauty about being able to buy used games. The employees at Gamestop (at least the ones in NYC) even tell you at the counter that you can return used games in a week and get a refund.

As someone mentioned before, the only publisher would who even have a problem with this is EA. But, who cares about them - the "worst company in America".

That is more or less what i do. It has been this way for me since dreamcast. The assassins creed 1 debacle that happened to me was the one time i broke my rule and bought a game i was unsure of just on the trailers. I ended up hating it at the time. I bet if i went back and played it again i would love it.

I like this (because I loved the Dreamcast), but what about Nintendo or Sony? They don't really fit into either.

That's true. The Dreamcast was the system that we deserved, but not the one that we needed then. So we didn't buy it, because we thought it could take it. We were wrong.

EA better get their **** together, they're going into the next gen with such a horrendous reputation already.

I didn't quite appreciate AC my first time either.

I still remember playing it for the first time, it was a football game and I forget which but it blew me away at the time. DC was way ahead of the curve back then.

So your staying you would have NEVER bought Elder Srcolls had you not got 10-20% off due to a trade in?

I agree on the Assasins creed point somewhat, I was in a similar situation, but friends convinced me 2 was good ( I still have 1). I didn't buy it used , I bought it when the price dropped, (the next version had just come out). It wasn't any cheaper used really. So the two situations very similar, but one sernario the publisher made less $ purely based on used games.
