I think Xbox One will be initially successful in the US no matter what since they have kids and Live fans who want the console regardless, but PS4 will likely be more successful. And even if MS releases a little earlier, I don't think that will offset the sales Sony will get simply because they have a lower price tag, especially with consumers who don't know or care about the restrictions but are simply buying the cheaper option for themselves or someone they know. We'll see though, I'm just speculating obviously.

I fully expect the roles to reverse this time. Xbox came out like gangbusters and PS3 well not so much. Now they are pretty even in total sales. I think as things play out that could easily be the case again.

I'm having a hard time predicting how it will look in the long run, at least in the US. I expect Sony to maintain the lead outside the US for a long time, possibly even by a greater margin with PS4, but the 360 sells so much month by month in the US even now...I have no idea how that will change in the future.

I'm wondering if 360 sales might not drop that much this year, especially if they lower the price of it. Should be interesting to see, and most analysts tend to be wrong about this stuff, so I just stopped paying attention to them. :lol

Europe/Japan is easily Sony biggest market, with the U.S. behind those; U.S. is 360's biggest market with Europe next and then Japan -

If the U.S. doesn't order the XBONE in high numbers, Europe isn't going to, and Japan certainty won't. MS has a serious uphill battle, and if they don't take it seriously, they are gonna go the way of WII U

I think its all down to the US for Microsoft. Because living in Europe everybody knows sony is the seal of approval for quality and reliability

Exactly. Nintendo was practically swept under the rug at this year's E3, but I believe that this could actually be one of their biggest console generations, yet. Especially if Xbone doesn't resonate well with consumers (given the already lopsided poll numbers around the net in favor of the PS4 over X-Box One), the real console battle is going to be between the Wii-U and PS4.

I really hope you're right about Nintendo. I love Metroid for example, and I want the console to succeed so their franchises to get the treatment they deserve with a high-powered console like the Wii-U (compared to the Wii at least). I might buy one just for Donkey Kong Country, I loved the original (lol sorry for going off-topic).

I really like Ninendo, too. I skipped out on the current generation, and never had a chance to play any of the new Zelda games, and I really miss Donkey Kong. I definitely plan on picking up a Wii-U some time next year. I like how they improved the graphics of the system to match the capabilities of the PS4 and X-Box 360.

:exactly: Yeah it was great they upgraded the power. I also missed the Zelda games after Wind Waker for one reason or another. If they stick to bringing back their franchises like Donkey Kong, I'll be more excited about Wii-U than I ever was about the original Wii. :)

I cant believe so many people picked ps4 over xbox one. PS4 has absolutely no innovation other than a hardware upgrade and some gimmick online shared play.

Xbox one on the other hand is a true next gen console, they finally achieved 1:1 mapping with the next gen kinect motion capture and voice control. It looks absolutely amazing and just imagine the games that can take advantage of this accurate full body motion control makes me want to drool.

I understand the licensing drm xbox one forces on its users is very lame but in the grand scheme of things, it is a much better console with some truly amazing innovations built in, vs ps4 which is just business as usual with a hardware upgrade.

Can you just imagine playing a boxing or fighting game using your full body as the control and having it reflected on the screen with 1:1 precision, not only that it can accurately detect the force at which you are throwing your punch/moving. Truly amazing tech...

For once...microsoft +1

I want to relax, sit on my couch, and drink a few beers when I play my games. If I want a full body work out, I'll head to the gym.

Maybe 10 years ago, they have lost that years ago. They are actually one of the worst now a days.

Microsoft just told us to shut down the poll or Bill Gates will 'buy us out'.

:exactly:

100% agree.

Over here Sony also was one of the best reputations in electronics.

But, not in laptops, those are just, iffy.
