Competition is what makes the technology and gaming better. I just hope each console gets a lot of their own exclusives and doesn't do the whole port to PS4 **** like the last half a decade.

II don't think there's anything to fear there. At only happened because of how difficult the Cell technology was to work with. PS4 is going to be a breeze to develop for and we'll see it's full potential early and often I'm betting. Third party games will be about identical methinks.

like the sony one's haven't been running around doing it for the last couple of weeks?

Sure it's both sides. And I've even done it. But there has been a couple Xbox loyalists that go on these rants that incite arguments for page after page.

That's the main reason I've avoided this thread like the plague lately.

Sure hope so. It's pretty irritating always getting chopped down versions of a game. Although some of the bigger multi-platform releases were tolerable.

It will be interesting to see if lasting damage has been done. Then again, the kids love their Haloz.

Since I've been in the thread it's the exact opposite. A few sensible neutrals and a lot of rabid PS4 fans doing anything and everything to slate the XB1.

Damage is done now though apparently......6 months from launch. :slap

I'm really glad Microsoft adjusted this. I love the online gaming on Xbox live far better than playstation.

The ps4 is more powerful on paper but in the past this was redundant because the porting as mentioned. I can only wonder if it will stay the same with this generation.

I will own both systems but now I can feel better about my xbone purchase and looking forward to stellar online play with it. :yess:

Aren't both systems fairly similar now to program for? The cell processor was a big barrier last gen.

Possibly. But at least it's a race now. In the US at least. Blow outs are boring not to mention bad for the business.

True, but it's one of those things where I would almost feel weird or embarrassed knowing I own the system that screwed things up so much, then had to bend over for Sony and bow down, just to compete.

Then again, the PS4 is still cheaper and I favor their ideals and games and exclusives more anyway.
I still don't like the Xbox focus on the American guy with Cable tv, Netflix, COD and sports.

PS4 still wins.

IN my book yes. I never will own TWO consoles at the same time. I'm not that hardcore. I will get a PS4, as I Did a PS1, 2 and 3 and embrace whatever they offer.
And will survive find without playing Haloz, Exclusive COD maps, or NFL experiences.
I'll live.

Yea they are. I was just wondering if things would stay the same more so out of habit when it comes down to developing future titles as they have this gen. Is what I meant.

Right so the Xbox has reversed it's decision on used games & logins. I was never bothered by that myself but now this is great news because it's going to be a more level playing field. I've already put my deposit down on the Ps4 but the One is the console I wanted 1st but I'm going to order that as well now. I might as well get them both on release as I was always going to get both anyway :yess:

I think that Colin Moriarty hit the nail on the head by saying:

"It shows a lack of vision, planning and leadership to reveal the policy,
double-down on it, say how great it is, then change it. That's all. "

I believe that Microsoft has a lot of damage to clean up after saying stuff like "We have something for that. It's called a 360."

The damage is already done and Microsoft had to eat their own **** sandwich for it.

95% of the world didn't know about E3 or the Vs polls. For rabid fanboys that froth at the mouth at the mere mention of MS , yes the damage is done, for the rest of the everyday, casual consumers it's like nothing ever happened.

The DRM never bothered me. My stance is still the same, I'm not committing to either system until closer to launch and I can get a better feel for it.
