Saw a demo of Ryse. Being Crytek it's going to look and sound fantastic, but I'm still pretty skeptical about the gameplay. I hate quick time events and prompts popping up in action games and this things loaded with them. Mandatory or not, there a big distraction and Im a believer that they're not necessary in any game.

Looks graphicly good but also looks like a lot of button mashing too me.

I feel the same. If they get the balance right, kinda like how they do in god of war, it could be very awesome but I can see it getting in the way and not letting the game flow how you want to play it.

I heard you don't have to do those, but you get extra XP if you do

Yeah, I know you can tech ically ignore the prompts, but it's a little liking watching a movie with closed captioning. Very hard to ignore even when you don't need them.

when I tried to make a decision between Xbox360 & PS3, the Xbox seemed better for me because of the games it launches, "Crackdown, Gears of war, halo, Alan wake" it just had better titles and Sony lacked it in the beginning.

but as time passed, the PS3 seems better than the xbox360 because now the Xbox is lacking exclusives for the past 2 years, and Sony is still putting out exclusives for its PS3 console "uncharted 3, sly cooper thieves in time, Infamous 2, The Last of us and so on" and still got exclusives coming out like beyond two souls.. while the 360 nothing

and it seems to be the same this time around, PS4 launching titles is lacking, and I would rather play Ryse and Dead rising 3 than Knack & Killzone

It's going to be a lean month or two, but I won't have to make that decision. Both FTW!

I think if the scoring system is rewarding enough, players will be motivated not to ignore them. It's really up to the gameplay. I'm still looking forward to the first wave of reviews from gamers.

video comparing fps between PS4 and Xbox One

[ame]https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G6VLvKHAeXQ[/ame]

Like the video says...it doesn't tell us tha much really. I hope the numbers are off cause they werent too impressive. Metro is a resource hog, but FPS below 30 is unacceptable. It's always different when a game is built on a console though. They can optimize things so much better.

with the current gen games (PS3) I get bad FPS mostly in an Assassin's Creed game especially within a crowded area.

None i think, maybe when they get cheaper, i like the Halo games...but the ps4 looks so much more interesting as a console xd.

I hope both consoles manage to sort out image tear as i really hate it.
Especially on all assassins creed games and skyrim.

Is this a frame rate issue?
As it only happens on a select few games.

Screen tear is where it's set to render at a specific frame rate but it would need a bit extra time to render the whole frame so only part of the frame updates and you get tearing. They can get rid of it at the loss of the framerate.

That video isn't going to be a good comparison of performance, there's no PC GPU that is the same as what will be in the console and the console games will be much more optimized for that hardware than PC games are at the moment for current PC hardware.

Agreed.
As long as gameplay doesn't dip below 30. Anything more is just icing.

people that don't have an HDTV, I guess won't be able to play those consoles? or will there be a component cable that's gonna sell alone?
