Well after working with both systems for a year I am town. On one hand this generation I was all about Xbox Live. 50k nerd points and over 120 games.

But I really hate the changes that they made to the new One controller. The face buttons feel squishy, the triggers were moved, the angle the controller now sits in your hand just feels wrong. The controller itself feels really cheap.

I also hate the One's UI. To be fair its not final but I don't like it at all.

Now the PS3 which I have only used as a blu ray player and I own like 4 games.

The Ps4's controller is a lot heavier, the analog sticks have been updated, the sloppy dead zone is gone, the response is nice and tight, the UI is the same Sony UI that is shared with the Vita and Ps3.

I know in time I will have both, but the question is which will be the primary?

My brain is leaning towards the PS4 but my heart is leaning towards the One. Its all going to come down to what most of my friends pick up, and the online service.

Xbox will destroy Sony on online service

Hmm...I didn't know that I wasn't allowed to vote in this thread, since I didin't participate in any of the actual conversations. That's news to me.

I guess my point is why not? People love to vote in polls, but few ever join the conversations. The gaming section could use more folks participating in the topics. You understand my point, right? 490 votes. Pretty kmpressive number considering there's about 15 of us that actually talk about games here. A few more in the collectible and mgs threads, but still.

Im not sure they will. X box live is very good but I see Sony learning and getting it right this time.

Its possible yeah. Now that Sony is charging for online play, they can't use "free" as an excuse for the lack features and polish. Hopefully, theyll come through with an online system thats as strong as MS

Alot of people just dont like repeating the same thing over and over, that has already been said.

Exactly. I always prefered Sonys interface but didnt like the service itself.
I think this will be pretty decent this time.

The Playstation UI is awful, hopefully the PS4 is changed a lot.

Really ? For some reason I just didnt like microsofts that much. I liked Sonys as it had more settings to tweak and play with and for some reason, I just thought it came across a bit classier. I also liked the small things like the dynamic themes.
Microsofts came across a bit kiddie almost nintendo ish.

Maybe just me :dunno

Its probably all of the obnoxious ads going on. I use to be a fan of the old blade system. That dashboard was tasteful and worked just fine. Now the dashboard is a place that MS can sell advertising space to so you can be bombarded with crap everytime you boot up. Its a turn off.

Yea I mean it was my favoured machine most part but I never really connected with the interface. Everytime there was a big update, I preyed it changed drastically lol. Probably need to get a life

Sonys just seemed simple yet classy.

Yeah I really liked the PS3 interface, probably why I was so disappointed when I see the PS Vita one. I'm really thinking about getting a Vita again though, the only reason I sold it was because I quite struggled with the analog sticks, they were a bit to small for me. Other than that I did really like it & I love the idea of remote play, that's what's drawing me back to getting one. Anyone else thinking of getting one?

It's stuff like how things are so poorly organized--Like I try to login to PSN and it says "There's an update, go to Settings>blah blah blah" Why is that there? If you're telling me there's an update let me just press a button and update instead of going to some obscure menu. They also use abbreviations for things that I have no idea what they are. What is XMB? I have no idea, sounds like something for Xbox.

Or like their store has so many trees to find things that it's hard to comprehend the organization.
And for the people who hate the Xbox Live ads--besides the ads on that are also on the main menu of PS they're also plastered around the online store as well. I was browsing around one time and when I went to a game category there was a full page ad for Gatorade that I had to navigate past to see actual games.

Not sure that makes sense, they currently charge for ps+ and there is no reason to believe they will make huge changes to it just because you are required to pay for it. The really hold all the dice once you buy a system, they require you have it to play online and if you don't like it you don't have any other option.

This is reassuring...cloooooud powwwwwer!!!

EDIT: IGN done goofed up....

CORRECTION: Our original story suggested that players' Xbox One consoles may reboot without warning due to cloud updates. This has been corrected to note that it's the host servers that may reboot during multiplayer games. We regret the error.

PS+ isnt free, but its not required. Now that they are requiring people to pay to play, they'll be expected to at least meet the standard created by MS and im sure they know that. Im not saying theyll succeed, but the fee changes the game for Sony. Gamers will be far less forgiving than we have been in the past.

What standard? 60 bucks for party chat? I've had live for 6 years now, the only difference is party chat. Their are ****ty online games on both platforms. I didn't renew my live sub this year since I've gotten plus. Live is a ripoff.
