What standard? 60 bucks for party chat? I've had live for 6 years now, the only difference is party chat. Their are ****ty online games on both platforms. I didn't renew my live sub this year since I've gotten plus. Live is a ripoff.

I'm not going to debate cost of Live. I was referring to the overall quality of the service. It works really well. Party chat is a great thing to have. PSN has been less consistent for me and a bit clunkier. It was free so who can complain. Now, it's not so it needs to be at least as good as Live. Just my opinion.

Live is better hands down over PSN. Every multiplayer game I have played on PSN was horrible in comparison. PSN has much less bandwidth or much slower servers. It seemed usages of comparable size took much longer from PSN than from live.

Really? Every game you've played? What games are good examples of being "horrible" multiplayer experiences? And servers all depend on the connection of hosts, just like Live. You enter a game with a bad host, you're bound to have a bad time. Why is that GTA online had problems on both platforms. Its expected on PS3 since its free, but For 60 bucks a year, MS should be on devs like hawks to make sure the online launches correctly .Like I said, both platforms have horrible multiplayer games and great multiplayer games. But saying Live is miles better than Sony's free service, isn't fair. I'm not a fanboy either, I've just spent so much damn time on both to realize one company charges 60 bucks to talk to your friends at all times. Live needs to step it up this next gen when it comes down to perks, something Plus has right now. Sony needs to deliver on that promise of party chat, and make damn sure it works day one.

Keep in mind that you're talking to our resident Xbot. No offense, mfoga.

my thought on both , if ppl gonna buy both and wondering which one to go with first, i would say Xbox One .

Xbox one have the better launch games .. PS4 launch line up is bad .. Killzone Shadow fall .. that's it Compared to Ryse, Dead Rising 3 and Forza..

but if someone wants to go with only 1 .. i would say the PS4 because in the long run, amazing titles coming like the Order, Infamous Second son and other unannounced titles

I don't consider myself a fanboy because unlike some I have bought and will buy every system thats out. :lol

That said, my personal experience with Live was that it was by far a better experience than Sony's online. It's not even close. Anyone that says otherwise is selling something. (Yes Princes Bride love it).

Now before you Sony fanboys get all upset, it may come as a shock to you that my first system purchase will be the PS4. I've already got a plus account as well. I'm hoping the experience is better.

I will pick up an Xbox One soon. Although I will debate the launch lineup topic. It really depends what you are into. I don't think Ryse is going to pan out to be anything other than a good looking game. Button mashers just aren't my thing either. Forza looks amazing and Dead Rising I could take or leave. Those games just frustrated me. :lol

The PS4 launch line up, is indeed weak. I always go with both consoles, I love the exclusives that both MS and Sony have to offer. Picking up a ps4 at launch and Xbox one for Christmas. I'm a sucker for Dead Rising.

I will end up with both but I'm getting the PS4 out of the gate. I don't get into the fanboy contests of which is better. I do think Live is better as a whole but PS+ I expect to be better on the 4.

I hope it's better. I must say I really like all the free stuff you get with plus. I should have ponied up a long time ago.

Jay was telling me even just since he reupped for plus its better. So I expect it will be. I need to go ahead and order mine and reorder my live that expired yesterday.

Will THIS change your mind? :naughty

Hey guys, I'm a little bit unclear about some of the console capabilities and I don't know anyone who can answer some questions for me. First off, are both consoles offering the use of netflix and all that stuff? Another question is, am I still going to be able to plug in my external hard drive and load pictures, movies, music, etc.?

Both consoles have apps, I think the big difference is that PS4 won't have the HBO Go app (though that won't be on Xbox One until a later update). For Xbox One you also have to have an Xbox Live Gold account to be able to use those apps, while with PS4 you don't have to pay for PS+ to be able to use the apps on PS4.
You can't load any files off external hard drives. Neither device allows you to play video files or music from anything other than their own services. Though if you have a Windows 8 computer you will be able to play media off that computer using Skydrive to your Xbox.

You can play CDs on Xbox One.

I wonder if you can burn CDs to the console's hard drive (as you currently can do on the 360); for playback during gaming sessions or to use your console as a music player.

MS is trying to make everyone pay for everything. I wouldn't be surprised if we had to pay a fee to unlock this feature. :lol

Right another comparison from IGN, this time it's need for speed. Again very little between them except one seems brighter than the other. Which seems to be the only difference between the 2 systems so far?

Makes you wonder if there got both screens at the same settings :lol ;)
