Rambo, Dutch news is cool but I have zero expectation for anything soon.....maybe 2015 -3016. Everything else was known, just confirmed....delayed.

Commando started off as a suggestion to Hot Toys in one of these interviews you know!I ca nt remember the exact date or have a link, but the suggestion was met with"Hey,thats not a bad idea!!",then followed up with last years Schwarzenegger poll, which Commando walked.I think they ll be very pleasantly surprised with how well that figure will sell, particularly if it s anywhere near as well-researched and executed as that fantastic custom elsewhere on these boards.

Sometimes theres an awful lot of good to come from these interviews besides just keeping us informed.

whats up with all these hot toys white knights who show up in full force whenever there is even the smallest hint of dissatisfaction from one person on this board? calm down, hot toys is not going to reward you for being such a loyal dog. the whole point of a discussion forum is to have a decent back and forth. the phrase "no ones forcing you to buy them" is dumb and irrelevant.

The world of 1/6 has a really simple equation.

Everyone wants THEIR own figures, while HOT TOYS make figures that make more money.

I'm a Batman fan, and while I don't have a single armor I admire the Iron Man figures done by HT. I also happen to love the franchises that HT seems to have more figures done for like Predator and Terminator -- but I feel happy for the fans of licenses outside Batman and IM whenever HT makes 'em. I can't blame HT though, for focusing too much on what gives them more money, as it's still business.

It's like fans of Cloak and Dagger longing for a monthly title from Marvel but Marvel says "NO!" and instead they release 2 solo titles of Wolverine, and have Wolverine appear on 3-5 more books regularly apart from those 2 solo titles.

Don't hold your breath on any of those.

Word :lecture

Pretty disappointing interview... but the trend with HT has been to focus on DC and Marvel, now sounds like it's just marvel or more specifically more and more Iron Man. I can't blame them since each figure sells well, but it's just so boring to see armor after armor announced when great figures properties like BTTF take a back seat.

Oh well, guess the upside is I can save some coin and wait for the releases I'll want.

That makes no sense.. you want a 'decent back and forth'.. but you don't want anyone to disagree?.. and particularly not IM fans pointing out that:
1. You are getting other license releases
2. No-one is forcing you to buy IM figures
3. IM is paying for development on less popular licences

Hello?! McFly!...

Who says I'm not being rewarded.. see how many lovely Iron Man releases I'm getting.. Woof Woof! :nana: :lol :1-1:
.. and anyway my armor's Shadowtrooper black.. that white Stormie stuff goes yellow over time.. yuck!

I'm fine with the wait. The only thing that would make the delays really suck is that by the time they get launched for Pre-Order, they'd be really expensive. The last below-$200 figure that went up for PO was Snake-Eyes, if I'm not mistaken.

A Marty Mc Fly DX figure could cost $260 if he goes up for PO next month. He might be $300 if he goes out next year.

IM is paying for development on less popular license? Seems more like IM is paying for development of......more IM.

Example is Crow / Draven.. because no disrespect, that license is small beer.. I love the film and the new figure rocks.. but imho, its a goth cult.. you can still pick up NECA's 1:4 figure new.

.. and tbh, without a reboot, the BTTF licence is niche nostaligia.. I honestly doubt the two key figures would sell more than the Crow.. and probably less.. for example the only figure that might appeal to me is "Doc" Brown at $150 or less (with LEDs natch).

:exactly: So yeah there is a pretty good reason right there to not be happy with the delays. Passage of time is the only 'justification' HT needs to keep upping their prices. The further in the future our figure wants are the more expensive they're gonna be. Quite simply.

O Rly? Where are they? Oh thats right i forgot DELAYED!

I said 'development'.. not 'release'... :nana:

Another RL example.. Palisades pretty much bet the farm on the Muppets license being a golden goose that kept on giving.. turned out the fanboys were long on noise but short on cash.. and where are Palisades now?.. Gone.

I'm simply pointing out the fact that just because you love a license, doesn't mean it can wash its face (financially) in the toy and collectibles market. :1-1:
