I just went to Nanjin's facebook page and...oh my god. It's amazing. Seriously, everyone stop saying anything mean about him or QMX. This man is hardcore and he is here for us! And I see several hints that they've updated the Picard sculpt for the better. Also the hints he gives at other figures and ones he's trying to get made are tantalizing.

Slowly but surely, I'm starting to be all in for the whole line. I was iffy on McCoy and now I want him too and Picard is a definite. They're spacing them out well enough that if you only collect these, they're easily affordable.

One question I have Nanjin is(and I guess only say what you can) but is the line selling? It seems like Kirk and Spock are plentiful everywhere. That's nice for people who still want to get them but I only worry that them not selling out means we wont' get as many figures later....and I want more figures! I want Motion picture and wrath of khan Kirk. I want Seven of Nine. More, More I say!

Kirk & Spock stocks have run out from various venders here in the UK, a few have managed to pick up them up in 2nd delivery waves. I believe Nanjin said that both figures have run out now. As for likeness, it really does come down to the lighting. I've taken a ton of photo's of Kirk, but non compare to looking at him, btw those criticizing the Kirk sculpt..have you ever seen a better one? Because I haven't; it is a brilliant likeness of Shatner.
Lets not forget that Kirk was only QMX 2nd figure. I'd say they have hit the ground running.
More Trek please

Thank you for your kind words. As long as I am able, I will bring as many Trek as I can from our wonder years!

Nanjin, you mentioned we might get 2 females this year...any hints as to who? I saw the seven of nine but I wonder about the other. Common sense says Uhura but I've heard there's been issues getting her likeness rights. Is that true or do we have nothing to worry about with that?

Art Asylum didn't seem to have any problem back in the day, as far as Uhura/Nichols likeness usage goes. Of course that was then, this is now, but I can't imagine what might have changed since in that regard.

I didn't mention any names! Whoever you will see, I believe you will be happy. Lips are sealed ;-)

I can't imagine she would turn down money. She's really old and I saw her at two cons recently NYCc and frank and son. At frank and son people were lined up for miles to see Billy dee Williams and his tag along brother and at nycc jon betental and in some bizzare turn of events the green ranger and a host of other unfortunate individuals with baffling small followings.

Unfortunate because in both cases Nichols had not one person going up to her. Even I didn't really want to because it was awkward and I had to point out who she was to my brother and admitiddly it was met with the same indifference .

Nothing is perfect. Nothing

The last McCoy was a big big step back in QMX and nanjins part. Or I guess really whoever sculpted it. It's dated, lacking detail and refinement and overall a lower grade than Kirk or Spock. And my god was the body a terrible choice for him, instead of bickering over blues how can no one point out that "bones" looks like a beafcake.

Somehow I love the damn thing. I don't know why, I think it's because it is a solid effort and it captures his spirit perfectly (once the mandatory body switch is done)

And I may forgive because I know najin was pretty much a god damn one man crusade. I'm a trek fan and it makes me angry to see the lack of love. And QMX are heros in my book taking a calculated mass produced risk with this.

Much respect.

All that and I love the Picard sculpt. Looking forward to getting that sculpt both from QMX and figure masters for my prof x.

I've been waiting years for this damn sculpt!

What body do you think you will be using for McCoy, if I may ask?
I've been wondering for a while what bodies to use for Spock and McCoy...

I think all of that is a generational thing. I'm 34 and I'm seeing and hearing things from people 10 years my junior that are now strange and crazy to me. Like, people saying GAme of Thrones is the best show they've EVER seen. EVER? That's a stretch, much as I like it. It's even in minor little things that aren't that big but it's always there. I saw a Ford commercial featuring the mighty morphin power rangers online the other day. The commercial was wise enough to cast as many of the actual rangers as they could(seemingly from the 2nd season of the show) so that meant you had Johny Yong Bosch as the 2nd Black ranger in it. There are people that are fans of that actor that had no idea he's a power ranger when that is the primary reason he's famous at all. That's nuts to me.

And it's not just me, I'm sure there are 44 year olds that read that who think I'M way different than them too. I just think we're in the midst of a great divide between age groups and nerd properties now where how old you are matters now more than ever in regards to what you consider yourself a fan of.

Game of Thrones is, in every conceivable and quantifiable metric, the greatest TV show of all time. The same way The Walking Dead is the most popular in L+3 viewing.

I'm 44 and yeah, I think the Power Rangers are close to being the most stupid and unwatchable garbage I've ever known of. :) I'd I'd never class any actor from it as "famous." Not even Internet-famous.

That is a opinion not a fact.

For e very person who thinks it's the greatest ever there is another who says it's meh, or it's boring, etc. Some consider Seinfeld, or MASH the greatest ever, others, Dallas, and some Batman the Animated Series. It's all opinions, and like all the great TV shows of the past, in 20 years or less both Game of Thrones, and Walking Dead will be outshined by whatever the newest latest and greatest thing is. Want some proof to back it up? Lost and Battlestar Galactica, both shows proclaimed by fans as the greatest ever, and now they are barely talked about, but are fondly remembered.

Darthkush is 100% correct its a generational thing.

That is also an opinion, not a fact. :rotfl

Opinions are what forums are about :dunno

It's generational and it's also subjective. There's just to much STUFF and too many THINGS of all kinds, categories, subjects and the like in regards to EVERYTHING to classify anything at all as "THE GREATEST" of all time.

Some things are grounded in solid fact that can inform subjective opinion. Game of Thrones is probably undeniably the greatest effort of large scale production for any TV show up until now. That's something we can say as factual.

And if that's of the most importance to someone then they could argue to them it's the greatest ever. But someone who values a story structure that is not disjointed, or is frustrated with too many inconsequential characters and lack of consistent characterization may struggle with GOT. Or even just a fantasy genre in general. Or violence, or anything really... to them it's not the Greatest of All Time. (for the record I like GOT I'm just illustrating a point).

I guess you missed the part about quantifiable metrics right? I'm not talking generalizations nor opinion, only attributes you can measure - but this isn't thread to discuss any of that.

Darthkush is 100% correct its a generational thing.

In a single paragraph he proposed the theory and proved its falsehood, so it's strange anyone would agree with the statement after having read it from start to end. There is no single age-band demographic that favors GoT - the show has an immensely wide following covering all ages and all backgrounds. Its popularity however, has nothing to do with what I wrote at the top.

I don't know. I think my theory is pretty good. And I wasn't disparaging Game of Thrones. I love that show and I think it IS one of the greatest shows but it ranks lower for me in other ways. I don't think it can touch Breaking Bad or even Buffy the Vampire Slayer or Sopranos. It's just an apples and oranges thing. But I do think there's some credence to my theory. I can't stand Pokémon. When it came out I was in high school and I think everything associated with it is dumb...but I don't begrudge people who love it. Your assessment of the power rangers actors makes me chuckle though, Pixel. hehhe.
