To quote someone: “Plans without execution are Thoughts.” I don’t even hear thoughts, only whispers of wishing in an echo chamber. And somewhere in a dark corner of the empty room there’s the sound of a clock loudly ticking.

I love TOS and admire Nanjin's work.

However, compared to other head sculpts on the market like Tommy Lee Jones or Jason Statham, the likeliness of a Kirk, (McCoy), Sulu, Chekov and Scotty is very doubtful. And the outfits of the crew is rather simple compared to other 1:6 articulated action figures that sport rich and real detailed costumes and accessories.

Anyway I am looking forward to seeing a McCoy re issue (got the 1st edition already) and of course Uhura, hopefully with her 1st/2nd season hairdo, a short skirt (not hat of the 3rd season, too long) and a black utility belt (e. g. 2nd season "The Gamesters of Triskalion") to fix her phaser and hiking up her dress a bit more. And of course no slim extended Barbie legs but her lovely curvey thighs.

So carry on with Uhura, Quantum mechanix!

Or Nanjin take over and produce her. You'll make it alright judging from the project pics we've seen on the qmx website.

those were then, these are now

Anyone can do good heads, but can they produce figures at fair cost with expected value is the difficulty

Unless Nanjin says otherwise I am of the opinion that there will definitely be NO McCoy reissue, no Uhura, no Chekhov, and frankly NO further 1/6 scale Trek releases from QMX...time to move on...it?s a shame because like ?new? Trek or not (I do) Star Trek is probably more popular, prolific, and part of the mainstream conversation than it has been in decades. With the focus that CBS is putting into it we will be in a situation where we actually have 4 live action and at least 1 animated series on the air. The most we ever had in the mid 90s hey day was 2 series with a slight overlap as one was wrapping up and the other beginning. If this does not motivate QMX to get going then they are truly just not interested. Time to move on...Fortunately the 7 figures and one chair that they released all look beautiful on my shelf so I will enjoy that and buy new figures based on other IPs from other companies.

Respectfully, I think there is 0% chance of a McCoy reissue in this lifetime or the next.

Well, I'm continuing with my personal projects and if some more come out, so much the better. Going beyond McCoy was always in doubt. I'm pleased with what we've got so far. Everything else is a bonus. I can appreciate why TNG fans are not so happy.

Lol jar jar klutzman trek is trash, had always been trash and STD was stolen from enos abdeen. Picard is another failure and nothing else will come out, they're just holding off telling us about the cancellations. They've burned through so much money they didn't have to produce shows that have next to no viewership. They were even giving away cbs all access at one point because no one wants that ****. If you're not going to do any research atleast watch nerdrotic and doomcock on YouTube, they'll get you caught up.

I assume you mean, likeness, not ‘likeliness.’ Yes, I agree, all the Star Trek likenesses, with the possible exception of Picard, are not overwhelming. I suppose the nearest head sculpt to very good is McCoy. But his muscle bound body is a huge negative. I refuse to pay $300+ for that! So, I’ll settle for my pretty good Kirk and my pretty good Spock likenesses and move on.

Meanwhile we can pipe-dream and post all about a Bones re-issue and an Uhura with ‘curvy thighs,’ but I tend to be a realist.

The tragedy of QMX?s squandering of the Trek license is that one could build an entire 1/6 scale company around the Star Trek license alone. Between TOS, TNG, DS9, VOY, ENT main crews...all of the main crews from the TOS and TNG movies, Discovery, Picard, upcoming Section 31 and Strange New Worlds main crews...all of the supporting characters...aliens, guest stars from Gary 7 to General Martok, to crew variants from episodes like TOS ?A piece of the Action? to DS9 ?Far Beyond the Stars?...a company could literally release five 1/6 scale Trek figures a month and nothing else and sell figures for years. Look at how many figures Playmates released...these cost a lot more of course but there is no shortage of material. Oh well...one can dream.

Yep...well lifelong Star Trek fan since the original series here and I love it all...I generally don?t waste too much time watching strangers with dumb names ranting on YouTube because like most adults if I like something hearing someone that I don?t know rant about why they don?t is not going to adjust my opinion and really would not be a good use of my time. To each their own...lucky for you and doomcock no one is making you watch it.

Discovery has been a huge success. I don't know about Picard but I have nearly finished watching and it walks the line between reverential and fresh very successfully., I've really enjoyed it so far although it has its fair share of plot holes.

Wow... I don’t know if it’s been a huge success or not but in my opinion, Discovery absolutely sucks! And I’d rather not get into why since that’s probably dissected on another thread somewhere. And I was never a big fan of TNG even during its hey-day so I have not attempted to revisit an over-the-hill Picard.

I only watched TNG for the first time last year, and I was surprised at just how good that show was. It does start a bit unevenly, and without the nostalgia glasses it tends to look somewhat dated, but by the third season it's just amazingly well written. I mean, TOS is one of my most beloved shows, but I never, ever, got misty eyed watching that, and TNG managed to do so quite a few times.
As for Disco, it's a nice show, I just watch it because it's fun, I'm not expecting it (or Picard for that matter) to be anything other than fun series.

I mean a success for them commercially. I enjoyed it but I did grind my teeth at some of the apocryphal stuff, which was clearly from the JJ Abrams playbook. All the show needed was for a couple of Trek experts to edit the scripts. There are definitely plot holes and technological faux pas that are annoying. They do seem sloppier than the nineties. I don't object to the concept of spore drive, I object to it being so magically powerful that it inconceivable it went away in later Trek.

Picard is better but I get frustrated that at no point do they ever reconcile the existence of three other planets with intelligent androids from TOS and intelligent machines from TNG. Trek is at its worst when it features fire and forget technology of the week. There are some plot reveals that are a bit questionable too and Elnor's tendency to murder people without considering incapacitating them is a bit unsavoury even if he is so adorable. That said, it weaves the lore of earlier shows into the story brilliantly and is very watchable. If they adopt a similar respect for the show's history in Strange New Worlds and edge back more towards the classic formula, I think that will also be successful.

OK, seems that we are now at a point where this forum is more about venting the hate or dislike for the new Trek series rather than the QMX figures. Maybe we could all get back to discussing the 1/6 scale line.

There never will be anything like TNG, that crew's chemistry was magic. Also the incredible writers like Ron Moore, Michael Piller and Brannon Braga. It's timeless.

I think it's wrong to dismiss the importance of keeping Trek thriving. The success of the new Trek shows is vital to showing new fans who are not the children of Trek fans the wonders of the older shows and acquiring new fans is an important part of generating more interest in this expensive niche hobby.

Well, I would say the same exact thing about TOS, that crew’s chemistry and the great writers of that time. The special Kirk-Spock-McCoy magic has not been matched since.

I like the TNG crew about as much as the TOS crew personally. I feel like one improvement with TNG is that the focus was spread out more amongst the cast. On TOS there were memorable characters like Scotty, Sulu, Uhura, and Chekov, but it was largely focused on Kirk, Spock, and McCoy to lead the episodes.
