Took him down off the shelf today and the body is completely deteriorated. Disappointing since he's been in a dark, temperature controlled room. It's an older fig, anyway but the muscle body was really a miss for HT. On the good side, my custom Zartan will inherit the bow and quiver.

that sucks and stories like this put me off buying any figures with a rubber body or material on part of them. Even the newer ones.

Bit of red paint & you got a cut up John Rambo....JK
Shame though, I just bought my 1st rubber bodied figure, hope things have improved since this figure...
what year was this released anyway?

I can't believe they come apart like that. My wife has a Barbie from when she was a kid, I'm talking late 70's- early 80's here. It has rubber over an armature and the rubber is perfect. If it could last that long with heavy play from a kid, you'd think one from hot toys could stay together sitting on a shelf.

Again, I am a huge fan of Hot Toys. I am really going to miss John J. in my collection.

sorry to hear that, preeny. also, could you tell me how you post the thumbnail images here? i do not see that as an option through the SS freaks picture gallery, so is it done through another means? thanks.

This figure is from around '05-'06. Although I'm disappointed, I know HT have improved their rubber bodies since then. To me, this was my definitive Rambo. The upside is that all the deterioration has occurred in places that can be concealed but my fear is that it will spread.

You should wait to see if they released the jointed, muscle body Arnold is on as a truetype. Maybe you can do a Rambo transfer onto that.

Wayyyyy to bulky for Rambo, Stallone was a very cut, muscular guy in the 80's but not a body builder.

I really wonder what plays into these break downs, I've got the same Rambo, had it since it was released and mine's fine. As far as you can tell by touch, every rubber muscular body since is the same material, they changed the frame for the Dutch body but the rubber all feels the same. Fortunately though, HT's using more sculpted PVC pieces and really reducing use of rubber as much as possible.

On the reply page just click on attachments (the paper clip icon) and you can browse files to upload as thumbnails.

And yes, Batty, it hurt me just to take those pics.:(

Then couldn't he just transfer it to the Wesker body truetype?

Even that one's a bit too thick for Stallone in the 80s Rambos, it'd work good for Rambo 4 when he was thicker looking but not any of the movies HT's done figures for.

Yeah, it's the same with the DX Batman. Some have the abdominal leakage while others are fine. Luck of the draw, I guess. I can't complain though because this is an older figure now.

same thing happened to mine but i got a loose body off ebay and swapped it over

Those are good suggextions. The only issue is that Rambo had unique scarring that is represented on this particular body.

Oh, I didn't know that. I know how that is, though. I was hoping Hot Toys would make a female truetype with the same skin tone as Sheva Alomar from Resident Evil. I prefer the jointed arms to the rubber sleeves. Unfortunately, she has a distinctive tattoo, so even if they made one with the same skin tone, I'd be bothered by the lack of the tattoo.

I hope you are able to salvage your Rambo or Hot Toys makes a DX with a newly developed body so you can have your ultimate Rambo figure. I'm really sorry this happened to your figure. I know I'm going to be pretty upset when my aliens start crumbling.
