If they held back 1000+ for regular sale in Japan that would not make it C4 exclusive. The point of a exclusive is just that, its exclusive. The Shadow Stormtrooper was "Imported exclusively to the U.S. by StarWarsShop"

And in doing my reseach I found this
Sideshow is pleased to announce that Medicom Toy Coporation has granted 1,000 pcs of the 12-inch RAH Sandtrooper figure for the US market as a special exclusive opportunity at Celebration IV.

So I guess this is not truely a C4 exclusive:emperor. I don't think you will find it much cheaper and if you do the 30-40 shipping chage the Intl sellers seem to charge will eat up those savings pretty fast.

There's really no such thing as an exclusive in this day and age anyway, most "exclusives" become available through online retailers anyway at some point in time, even the convention ones.

The almighty dollar prevails and if people want these things and are prepared to pay, most online retailers will find a way to stock them. I got all the Ep3 Target exclusive figures in 2005 and we don't even have Target stores in the UK.

I get what you're saying though and it is disappointing in one sense, but in another at least more fans will have a chance to get one.

I know what you mean about online retailers getting them but the mojority of those are purchased the same way we did and now they have some for sale. This is totally different. 1/2 of the items are a "convention exclusive" where the other half are sold as normal in Japan. If it made its way to retailers becasue they bought x number by having their employees/friends all buy one thats one thing but this is juist kinda weird. Ohh well its better for some it was just a lil misleading and I hoped the box was going to have some kind of cool C4 logo.

I was hoping it would be exclusive too. Like the SDCC 501 VCD was TOTALLY exclusive right? Maybe because RAH's are in such high demand in Japan too they won't do a totally U.S. only exclusive? Anyway, maybe the C4 versions WILL have the C4 logo on the box? In the end I'm just glad to add another troop!

It's possible that the Sandtrooper was slated for release through Medicom before Sideshow arranged it's lineup for C4, so when they work their deals with Medi to distribute their figures, they might have looked at the situation, plus the fact that the Sandtrooper will be ready before Boba and Jango it would seem, and decided to make it a SSC C4 exclusive instead of just distributing it like usual.

I wonder if some of the online retailers that order their RAH's directly from Japan, will now be getting Sandtrooper then.

Well Mosters in Motion has the Sandtrooper, Jango and Boba right now all for the same price as SS or what we thing the price will be.

Got my RAH Sandtrooper yesterday with a very nice weathering job, BUT...

I got the same slop, so I tried repainting too. I also scratched the mouth piece and band a little (don't care if it's supposed to be rubber :lol) for a more weathered look:

Very nice. I am trying very hard to find a couple of these. With all of the speculation about how many were made available, I figured they would not be real hard to find...at a good price, that is.

Seeing that all Medicom Storm/Sandtrooper have the mouth grill paint problem. I'd wait for Sideshow to make theirs. Can't be much longer now.

I wasn't really happy with the way the helmet band turned out, so I worked again at it, with a better result:

OK...I just got my first Medicom Sandtrooper on eBay. 170.00 shipped. I guess that is about what it would have cost a non-attendee at CC '07.

I guess.

OK...so...I received my first RAH Sandtrooper in the mail today. And I think the figure is awesome. Not perfect, but awesome anyway. Even the weathering, while not as good as most of the customizers' on these boards, is still fine to me.

Can anyone tell me if the pack is removable?

Yes, you just need to give it a firm tug.

Just kidding! I don't have the figure, I was just picturing your reaction after taking my bad advice and getting mixed results.

LOL...too funny! Thanks for clueing me in before I ran off and pulled it off!:D

Yep, its a fantastic figure and my favourite of the Star Wars RAH's.

Hope one day Medicom will make the other Sandtroopers

Yeah, with ANH helmets as opposed to the cost-effective "let's just substitute the ROTJ helmet" version. Not that I don't like my Medi Sandies, but I like my Marmit sandies better.
