If it happens I think the DDX would be $1500. Kinda confirms the DX to be somewhere in the region of $1200 I would have thought.

I don't think anyone is weighing in on the matter because of your vote bro. Everyone just wants to see the gun slide!

Your bet's not my business but I'll just share my opinion; you took really bad odds on that one. Nearly everyone here wants and expects that item to be included with this set. Something like that not making the cut could send the thread into total meltdown (and that would be a shame because it's pretty quiet and peaceful for once ).

Knowing how bad it's wanted and expected and how RM tries to accommodate us when he sees enough people are clamoring for the same thing... I think you made a bad bet

That said, I personally didn't contact him myself on the matter, but I'm glad that others are. The gun slide is a must!!!!

Both the shades and gun slide are really important. The gun slide would be by far the best FS item ever. I'm really hoping both somehow make the cut. They are essential to the character of Mr. Bickle.

I have to say that I REALLY like seeing RM deviate from the usual business model. Some characters call for extras that can't fit in his standard set prices and packages, so instead of things not making the cut, he's offering extended packages. I love that he's willing to do this. This gives hope for other accessory/outfit heavy characters in the future.


Only 2 guns are confirmed so I'm assuming that the gun not making the cut is the Smith & Wesson Escort that's used on the gun slide. So if he's doing the slide, will he include the Escort?

I know I'm in the minority, but I would really prefer the long haired look with the bomber jacket, so I would love to see a head/outfit option where we might be able to pick just that up without dropping $1,200.

I'm guessing that the long haired sculpt and the respective outfit bits are all part of the DX so I doubt we'll see any of those parts offered outside the DX's

I liked the SDX idea for myself but I know that it's not for everyone. The best way to do this would have been to make the Taxi Driver ver. a separate H&C and the Hero/Mohawk ver. could have stayed the FS/DX/SDX. Like I mentioned before, this way you could choose to buy one or the other, or both and have no overlap and all you need for 2 full set ups. Maybe the only overlap would be a gun or two that would come with both versions but the long haired H&C could have included other things that the "hero" version didn't; knife, cigar box, clipboard, etc.

Getting back to the sculpt for a second.... am I the only one that sees De niro here? I'm assuming that the only (or main) thing different in the 1st & 2nd is he removed the crinkle in the brow and the 2nd just looks different because of PS. I see people saying that they don't see him in the 1st pic shown but I thought it was a pretty damn good likeness; and I'm one of the most finicky a-holes here!

I think they hint at hm, but it isn't screaming Deniro to me yet. When I squint a bit, I can see him. We'll see when more pics of the sculpt are revealed.

BTW, next Rainman figure has to be Albert Brooks with an afro.

I have no problem with bashing this fig,the reason i'm commenting is that why so many of you are excited over the fig,, which i get if your a fan, dont you think the prices are getting just a little TOO crazy? A possible $500+ for a DDX with a pistol slide?? Eventually the increases are going to price out a large amount of collectors.

I'm not usually one to go all-in paying $800+ for custom figures, but it's the nature of things. If the Rainman market is willing to pay an extra $200 or whatever for an accessory (the SUPER DX option I guess), then it only makes sense that's what he would charge. With things like this, and Serang's prices, I don't think there is a clear line in the sand for acceptable vs. unacceptable custom prices anymore. I do know there is a point for me when I decide that I will just enjoy others' pics rather than go all in myself.

If anyone who has posted in this thread, even the critics of price, goes to theFwoosh.com and talks about how much they've spent on figures, they will be seen as a complete nut job. Even basic Hot Toys collectors would seem that way to some. It's all relative.

I believe there will be options for everyone's price ranges.

Some might get priced out of buying a FS, a DX, or a SDX (Copyright pending)

Some would say 50 dollars is too expensive for a toy.
