Only just had time to flick through the Taschen book.

Wow that is some INCREDIBLE ref material there. Massive thanks for sending him that Ray. :duff

Re: Rainman Artwork 2013 NYC Cabbie "God's Lonely Man"

There is a standard that all things are based off of though and every artist/customizer in the community both creates and revolves around that standard. What WGP, Rocco, Robbie, Elvis, Beto, Iminime, Serang, Rainman...(so on & so on) charge all have a lot to do with each other.
Serang charged nearly $500 for a 1/6 scale guitar. I don't think anyone else comes near to that, so I don't see standardization across the board. There is some level of uniformity in prices, but it will vary from product to product depending on the work put into it, the quality, and the reputation/name brand. If Beto decided to charge an extra couple hundred of dollars for a figure, I don't think his collectors would blink at this point. Same for Rainman or Serang. Iminime collectors probably would, but I think he's got a ways to go to catch up to these other guys.

Awesome, Im glad that there is uniform support for this and so glad to see your support for getting that gunside made. This particular accessory is really Rainmans lane and requires his specfic skillset. Not many can be made because of the complexity of hence the special DXX offering.

Price Range:
DXX $1500-$1600
DX $1200-$1300
Fullset $1000

Forgot to mention it but thanks for spearheading this and getting the gun slide made. It's very much appreciated!

Re: Rainman Artwork 2013 NYC Cabbie "God's Lonely Man"

I would be interested but I really would like to see the head sculpt completed first and proto assembled. At the very least some good finished shots of stuff.

On a side note, Rainman can make anything. The market just needs to be there.

Re: Rainman Artwork 2013 NYC Cabbie "God's Lonely Man"

Its kinda cool that RM really has a concern about making his figs accessible to all of us.
While i still think these are mad prices, I might bite at a head and clothing set. Its looking good.

Re: Rainman Artwork 2013 NYC Cabbie "God's Lonely Man"

Hi guys,
I need to make one correction.

What he meant to say was that his DX is usually priced at $1000 but for this release it is estimated at $1300

No price for full set yet but you can assume that it will range from $800-$1000 for fullset offering.

Yes, these are the numbers that he confirmed with me on order to get the DXX rolling. Expect $1500-1600 for the DXX.

Well the $500 gutairs are a bit above and beyond where most things are priced. Aside from them I have no doubt that artists look at what the next guy is charging and what they are offering for that price, and that helps them set their own price points.

Yeah but Serang just doesn't give a *****

He made that Korean Naval Admiral and priced it at $4,000 :horror

Here you go, take it or leave it , have a nice day! :) :monkey1

I'm in full support of the DXX but a line does have to be drawn at some point. If the DX is $1300 then I can see the DXX as being $1500 and that would be fair in my book. But to go $1600 that means that the slide & Escort cost $300 and that's a bit much for that accessory IMO

Re: Rainman Artwork 2013 NYC Cabbie "God's Lonely Man"

Is it ok if I start to compile a list of potential members in support of the DXX? I want to give him some comfort in knowing he has solid backing on this. Please let me know.

Can you ask him about edition sizes? Being completely honest here... I am interested in the DX since I prefer the long hair to the mohawk! But I have very little interest in the gun slide so probably no DXX for me if the price difference is going to be about $300. And if I can't grab a DX, then it'll probably be a H&C set for me. I'm really hoping he just creates even more DXX without compromising the edition size for the DX.

Yup, I second that. Mags & Turbo have done and are doing all they can to relay the messages and desires of the fans. You guys are helping him understand the mind of the collector and in turn helping us understand his concerns. All your work will help this to be all it can be. :hi5:

I guess he has a fan base that doesn't give a **** either :lol

God bless him

Edition size is something he does not like to discuss until he's determined it. I can guarantee that there is somthing for everyone though, so I don't see any one being left out. The reality is that these will be made in relatively low numbers but given the mix of price and options, you really should have no problem getting what you want frankly.

He also wanted to reiterate guys that he really wants us to appreciate what he's doing because he appreciates and values our support for him. We just have to be a little more flexible on this one. It's not going to be a trend, but this option now exists for us and their are characters that quite frankly cannot dictate the same pricepoints all the time. This is somthing that he is starting to look at. My advice has always been choose wisely.

Re: Rainman Artwork 2013 NYC Cabbie "God's Lonely Man"

DXX?? WTF? You guys are something else! :lol

Let the man release whatever he wants to release. :rotfl

Re: Rainman Artwork 2013 NYC Cabbie "God's Lonely Man"

Shorty can I count you in on the DXX.

DXX is the Gunslide offering.
