Re: Rainman Artwork 2013 NYC Cabbie "God's Lonely Man"

Well that's roughly the projected price difference between DX and DXX I believe

Im in the minority that thinks this should be an optional robbie project, if its $300 price difference. It looks great, but im not sure anyone would wanna play and move the slide it as it looks kinda fragile.

It doesn't really make much difference who makes it tbh as it's currently an additional Rainman item. I won't be going for it I'll likely settle for DX. If you don't want it either there will be plenty of options to fur fill your needs.

Re: Rainman Artwork 2013 NYC Cabbie "God's Lonely Man"

Fact: rainman was not going to do the gun slide.
Fact: it got facilitated by various communications and pleading and like the gentleman he has been on countless occasions, after a crew of folks pushed to make it happen, he was convinced and heightened the price of an already talked about increased item by more to make this extra special.

The second behind-the-scenes started occurring to make something happen, all bets are off. It's like going to Vegas, plunking down coin for a boxing match, then fixing the outcome behind the scenes.

Only thing that matters: rainman again, like the true gentleman genus, went the extra mile just to keep his fan- base happy. But let's also be real here... The guy is making good $ w/ the price hike and not a victim either.

I normally go for the top of the range (full set, SS ex etc), so it looks like i have no choice but to get this release. Had it been an outsourced side project, it would be easier on the wallet.

You always have a choice man :) why pay an additional $200-300 for an item you don't want or need that's just crazy.

:)

Really liking the sculpt. Hard to tell if thats the Deniro nose, Rainman is very good at sculpting that particular feature. Maybe a minor tweak on it would be good. Definately see Deniro in it. This one is going to have alot of Rainmans charm :panic:

Its the OCD in me that wont let it go, knowing that theres a much superior version out there. :panic:

But how would it be superior if you have no love or want of that extra accessory? Superior in whose eyes? Not yours or you'd want that extra accessory in the first place. Superior in other peoples eyes? Perhaps, but as a collector it's what you want that's important! Just because somebody else thinks it's superior doesn't automatically make it so....

Again, these reveal photos of the sculpts are of the worst possible angle, with horrible shadowing on them. If I weren't in the Taxi Driver thread, I could not have guessed that was a Travis Bickle sculpt (well maybe the moles would give a clue, but other than that?).

Superior in term of rainman's particular release of that figure.

Haha Rainman sure does like his mood lighting. I see a lot of De Niro in there but your absolutely right the angle and lighting could be better. Guess it's just a teaser though that's why

I cant get over how beautiful this is, look at the grip for the escort! :clap

It is beautiful! Also looks extremely fragile. Doesn't look like you can bend the arm when it's on as to do so would potentially snap the rail

Really want to get a better look at the shape of the hair.

For $1500 I guess we ought to be very careful then.
