I agree, but is Lee really venturing into open ended releases? not limited?
and also can he and robbie keep up with demand if that money DX / FS get ordered?
seems like a lot of things could get ordered in 24 hours considering his releases sell out in 2 minutes normally.

It's not really open ended, just 24hrs and things sell out in 2minutes because there is such a small out, not that 200 people want it, numbers will be alittle larger in size difference but not that many people can shell out this kind of cash for there to be 200+ orders, and it's still limited, just like every offering here, opened for however many then once closed, closed for good.

I agree, plus if the DX is like $1500 there's not gonna be many people that have that kind of cash in before Christmas.

This is a flippers nightmare, and I understand if some VIPs get angry but turbo how can you say everybody always gets what they want there were tons of people that didn't get anything during Bill V2.

I'm gonna email Lee because I suspect that a lot of people have been granted VIP slots without actually earning it by buying product. It took me forever to make VIP and I've only ever bought DX and Fullsets. If it were based on who really spent money with Rainman I suspect that a lot more product would be available for the general public even after The VIP orders were placed.

And from my experience it should only be 12hour open ended if he's gonna try this. No one does 24hrs it's too much time. In fact I would suggest he do it for only 3hours max then close it out.


There has to be a cap on somthing though. Some part of this offering has to be limited. This is my worst nightmare because it means the Quality is going to suffer dramatically. This is my major concern. I like fair but this doesn't sound very logical.

The only reason for someone not to want this system is because they are being selfish, whether selfish by not wanting as many others to get it, or selfish by wanting Rainman to produce new figures.

This system really does help all his fans get the figure, it will still be limited, geez man 24hrs and it's sold out for good, someone can be away from the computer for 24hrs and they miss out, it's not going to be that many more orders.

When normally 60-100 sets sell out in 2 minutes, 24 hours gives ample time for everyone (not saying its a bad thing) to get one. imagine someone posts on OSR "rainman open ended jack torrance orders" . Lee could potentially be facing hundreds of sets being ordered.
Im more or less wondering if him and robbie are aware of that and up to the task.

Let every one have it... And I don't care if this cuts into his production for the year. If he wants to take this task on... awesome. And then anyone who can get one, will have one, and a version they may want of it. I'm all for it, and hopefully, everyone gets what they want and after the window is closed, we don't ever see this re-casted and re-sold, or even better, if he is going to do this, he can't offer this as a later single head sale. Make this a one-shot thing. And I'm cool waiting however long for the item to arrive. Thanks, Lee.

There's only 1 scenario I see working under the open ended structure.

That's if he settles on 1 presentation and only takes open ended orders on 1 offering.....the DX with twins or complete package.

He should make that offering the 24 hour package because price will surely keep some at bay, and the edition will make a bit more sense.

Everything else should be offered his normal way,

So the idea is...,everyone has the same opportunity at the Grand Package on an open ended order structure otherwise other orders will be accepted the usual Rainman Artworks way.


These are custom artworks people, not mass produced customs.

I think this is awesome and that most people will appreciate this structure. The number 1 reason I am not more interested in Rainman releases is that they are such a nightmare to get a hold of. They pop up at weird times after the VIP's have already gone to town on the existing stock. This is far better business - he is trying to actually meet demand and not such satiate an inner group of elitist collectors while leaving the rest to fight for scraps. Whoever thinks that the old way has worked or that everyone has left happy is really not paying attention. Keep in mind that SSF is just a small sample of people that purchase these things.

And you know what happens if this blows up and they have a hard time keeping up with the orders? They don't do it again and go back to the old model. Considering how incredibly flawed the old model is, this is certainly worth at least trying.
