Majority of the people on OSR ***** about Hot Toys prices, you think they are going to flood Rainman's website haha

Ajkhunter, did you ever complain about Rainman prices before you started collecting high end customs? Just ask yourself that question and you'll see why a open ended orders just don't work. Sounds great but doesn't make any sense. How can he anticipate that less than 100 people are gonna place an order? Can you imagine 100 jacks, 100 Danny with trikes, 200 twins? C'mon man, get serious.

Other scenario where 24hours could work is if he sets a cap do the 24hrs and if it falls under his estimate than so be it orders are in and it worked, but if it goes way over his intial projections than it isn't a feasible structure. Great in theory but just doesn't seem to be realistic. Let's see

Open Ended 24hour order for the Grand Package DX only is the move in my opinion. If you want the convenience of a no hastle purchase than you should at least meet the demands of supporting the entirety of the works offered. That's fair for both sides, Rainman and his customers.

If he feels like he can handle it and wants to do it, then let him do it. I don't see why you are concerned with him getting in over his head - obviously he has thought this through and has a better idea of the possible workload then any of us.

He's got all year to do it, might take 6-8 months to ship and he only has to do 1 or 2 projects a year. Sounds like some good business strategy to me. Lee sculpts the head and accessories, it's not like he's going to make the clothing the trike and assemble all the figures. Who knows he might hire a team to paint the sculpts. Will this affect the quality control? Who knows we had a lot of quality control problems on Bill version two and with the recent head releases.

The bottom line is custom figures aren't as niche as they were at one time, it's not the days of limited to 20 figures for someone as big as Rainman. Iminime been doing it this way and they are successful, and their preorders last weeks.

Lakhota, please man! YOU ARE LITERALLY SUCKING OUT THE ARTISANSHIP OF THIS SIDE OF THE HOBBY! Please man, Sit Down....keep collecting but SIT DOWN.

Niche is what makes high end collectables desirable, ok... Get it! Otherwise please I beg you to go and rally up the troops for Iminime to make a Jack also because they are more than capable of doing great work at higher numbers. I'm interested in Rainman artworks. 1 man...small team, tight production at super high quality.

No disrespect to you man, but you need to stop with all your silly little posts. People are spending serious money on these things. Some of us are very concerned about the direction in which certain aspects of our hobby is going.

It seems like you are the only one really hitting the small-run-artisan-figure drum here. Everyone else seems pretty happy with the distribution of this figure. It isn't like this is going to mass-production, it is just going outside of the hyper-small 20-30 figure limit. That limit combined with the VIP system makes it incredibly difficult for all but a select few to get a hold of his figures. If Lee thinks he can handle a larger run, then let the man try.

And hey - I appreciate Lakhota's posts. They add levity to a forum about dolls.

Why you so mad bro? I am not breaking any rules by discussing things on a discussion board, I haven't offended anyone or used foul language.

Just because your upset that other people might have a chance to order an item you want to keep to yourself or a chosen few. What makes it high end ? Pricing it out of others reach or making it impossible for others to obtain.? I hight doubt you are worried about the artistry of RM Torrance release and more about others having the same figure as you sitting in their detolf.

Put me on ignore if my " silly" comments bother you but I seriously think it more entertaining than the negative poison you spew in every forum. I am excited like others that haven't had an opportunity to own a DX or full set from RM.

Tell me this what if Lee did it the old way and you being a VIP missed out on a DX etc.? I bet your perspective would be a lot different on the situation.

Dude, you make me want to sell my collection, Uggh...

You want Rainman artworks? Why can't you earn your VIP slot the way I had to. Stop being so Salty already. Man you're disrespectful. You talk as if I didn't have to deal with missing out or still do.

Anyways, Rainman goodluck with 24hrs open order. I hope the quality doesn't suffer. Don't sacrifice the Art for demand.

I really don't think we are going to be looking at the anticipated high numbers. There just aren't going to be that many people who are able to handle the pricepoint. If you look at all those who have been able to purchase a particular RM release and then how many got nothing, those two numbers are not that high. All we are really talking about is those who were shut out, now being able to get something. Those who usually are able to get what they want are now added to those who got nothing and there is your total. More than usual, yes. An outrageously high number, I don't think so. Just my opinion, no hitting.

I think that is the reality and draw of this viewpoint. It isn't opening the floodgates. You post a RM figure on some forums like OSW and they just stare at it and say "may be interested if less than $150".

I understand the concept of everyone getting a chance but believe it or not guys, some of us are more interested in small runs and limited pieces.

I hear what you are saying, but it's not what we are interested in, but rather what Lee is interested in.

I think it's a good idea. I'm sure numbers will stay low enough, and it gives me a chance in hell in getting at least one thing from this release. What I'd want most is the twins and Danny only. I do love Jack so let's see how this turns out.

I'm just sayin everyone collects for different reasons that's all.

Believe me... I love owning something that's super rare with a ridiculously low edition size, whether it's a figure, a print or otherwise, but I think in this case I have to be thankful for the timed edition or else I'd have no chance in hell in getting one of these.

Just hope you'll never be in a position where you'd have to sell it because with this idea it's like buying a $2000 TV or some **** lol
