I think we can have whatever discussions/opinions/suggestions here and they can or will be adopted at will. At the end of the day it is still rainman's work and interpretation is a part of it, just like Kubrick's interpretation of King.

There are lines there and some think it's ok to cross them. It's not. I find the suggestion actually quite rude and disrespectful... Let an artist be.
If that much involvement is required - put out your own figure with that full control of what is released.

Agreed! Its a Slap in the Face to the Artist. I respect Rainman's Talent, and his interpretation on each of his works. Nothing will ever be 100% perfect! Once everything is shown, if i like what i See, i will Buy. If not, i will pass.

May be we can have one of us (whoever has stalked 5k for this figure), sponsor a webcam to rainman, to 40 of us and also to yunsil and considering our passion they should work in front of us over a live connection and then we can monitor every small lace on the shoe, every small curl in the hair, actually I would also like to analyze what he eats or drinks while doing different figure parts as accuracy could be affected depending on a high iq vs low iq diet! [emoji436]

Lastly we should have an instant voting poll set up and we can vote with simply superb, wow, not so wow, average, poor at each step of the figure. [emoji440]

Damn it - I say let the man be and do his job

On a different note - I also don't believe in idol worship - As for some issues that happen from time to time like I said so long I /we don't get a key component like (bill2 coat, where not the color but stitch, fit, the way it falls was completely off) and Bickel likeness issue (I still can't find a single iconic still from the movie that could match the sculpts) . Honestly, some of those major issues I don't consider as "artist interpretation" . Rest minor details and issues don't matter and let his knife flow the way he likes and also let yunsils seamstress stitch them the way she wants and let creativity thrive!

Like it - buy it - don like it - don buy it! Is the message to all of us.
However one thing the artists also must note is that collectors understand the nuances, well understand the issues involved and are completely in synch on what and how difficult it is to pull off accuracy in this scale. I am guessing that is the reason why most collectors are shelling out the kind of big money they are on these customs and it's also unfair to keep pushing them in the corner if they don't happen to like something. Artists must also have a thick stomach - and be open to criticism as big money is involved in these - from both sides!

I totally agreed :exactly:

Huh? So a suggestion or opinion is a slap in the face and you respect his talent and his artistic interpretation......but if you don't like what you see, then your not going to buy? :lol isn't that the same exact thing? In fact isn't the latter the ultimate slap in the face!!

Suggesting somthing during the actual production process is far worse than...."ehhhh, I'll pass" when he's all done? Yes that makes total sense because smiles and praise actually pay his bills. I'm sure he'd take that over cold hard cash for all his hard work anyday. Next time someone talks to him ask him if your praise means more to him than your $1000 dollars. Talk is cheap is the metaphor I believe. Real support is with the wallet.

Well, moving along. Does anyone have an opinion about the twins hair not being curly on the ends? Is it too much of an nitpick? Does that detail not really matter? It's weird to me how the Anton hair situation was addressed and fixed or Vince's ponytail was changed because collectors wanted that sculpt to match up better with the Jules figure? Where the hell was all the artistic interpretation support then? I would have loved to have the black suit pulp fiction boys with Vince in his ponytail....because there's nothing more interpretive than that.

:lol I am not one to give an opinion or suggestion towards an Artist works. My Motto" If i like it, I will buy. If not, i will not buy". Simple as that. But I do agree with you Turbo on the Twins Hair. :monkey3

When Grady tells Torrance "you've always been the caretaker" what did he mean and why was Torrance shocked by that revelation?

When Torrance reveals he felt a sense of de ja vu at the overlook, does that have anything to do with why Kubrick ties in this photo at the end?

I know Danny and Halloran had the shine, Torrance is going insane and Danny is getting in his head, but why was Danny's mom having bat **** crazy visions towards the end of the movie too?

What was all this about?

And how come this sculpt has no curls?

So many questions......

"Hey, Michael..."
"Yeah?"
"Those fingers aren't touching..."
"Um..."
"We're they meant to touch?"
"Well..."
"'Cos they're not."
"Well, I..."
"I mean, not to nit pick, but, well, if they're meant to touch..."
"I, erm..."
"You got it wrong."
"Um..."
"I mean, just saying...you know?"
"I..."
"Just saying...not criticising, or anything...just...well, you know...you got it wrong, yeah?"
"Erm..."
"No. No, not having a go. Just, well...if you did want them to touch...you, er, stuffed up, didn't you?"
"Well, it's..."
"I mean, good on you and all...nice painting and that...love the curls...but, yeah...those fingers look a bit wrong, don't they? Not touching at all, you know?"

This thread is hilarious.

Just received word from Lee via carrier pigeon.
He is happy to use Factory Owner wigs to add curls to the Twins...
Awaiting our approval.
