Knowing RM from way back, I did take one thing from that, and that was his hatred for nit-picking. I would cringe as I would ask him to change a tiny detail for the collective. I just don't think in the realms of this project he would consider the angle of the boot seams as massively important.

Yeh well put mate.

Boots do look a tad clunky I must say. But not too bothered about it, I just want to see the fullset already!!

If only I wasn't going travelling..... Sometimes I hate this hobby try to get out them bam dragged back in!
Still too the peeps getting this congrats!

As hopeful as I am for the project, past experience has led me to anticipate that a few key details will be missed that can hurt the overall accuracy of the figure when compared to the film. It seems like there isn't much interest in accuracy anymore or the finer details. I always thought the fine accurate details was why we pay the big bucks. Over the course of collecting these figures, it always seems like the most obvious things are the ones that fall short when it comes to trying to get it as accurate as possible. Still very excited about the project. It will be very cool.

So Hopefully,
1) Rainman takes a serious look at the twins hair and adds that "pomp" or fluffy curl to the ends of the hair instead of the flat ends the sculpt has now.
2) The jeans will have the Lee badge and Lee cut pockets with wave stitching on the back not the Levi's cut pocket or arch stitching.
3) The color of the jacket will be the right shade of burgundy not red, that it will come with all 3 pocket flaps and the proper contrast lining in the coat, and most importantly that the material Yunsil will use is or looks like Cordoroy.

4) The plaid shirt pattern will match as closely as possible to what Jack wears on screen in both color and pattern.

5) And hopefully the boots aren't as chunky as they seem in the picture because the jean inseam has to be able to cover the top of the boots.

Ultimately it's Rainmans project and his decision to inspect these areas and make changes if needed.

But the customers also have the option to buy or not buy if they feel that the overall quality of the figures does not reflect the price asked for it. I don't think that will be the case though judging from what I'm looking at so far in the WIP everything is looking top quality and it's an ambitious project.
We can't forget the really small details though. The stuff that may seem insignificant are always the things that can bring this to a higher level of appreciation from the fans.

This was a Jack Torrance figure I used to own. Many of you have one of these in your collections. The tailoring was horrible in my opinion but the color matching for the clothing was 100% Perfect. They hit the bullseye with the color and material of te jacket, the contrast lining in the jacket, the wash of the blue denim jeans, the pockets on the back of the jeans ("Lee" cut pockets). The axe head was real metal, the handle was wood. They got a lot of things right with this figure.

Anyone have a pair of the Jack Torrance jeans from the Screaming figure and can post a pic of the back of the jeans please post it.

What ever he makes will be art regardless! He tends to miss details on other projects doesn't make them any less of an art piece....you pay big bucks for the artist art because you like it not because everything is 100% spot on, that's the bonus.

If you don't like it don't buy it simples...... However I can see this set reaching rocket high price because people like to charge a lot in the second hand market.
Personal point of view I wasn't keen on this and now I quiet like it I think it will be a stunning piece. I like lee's work I wish I had been around when he made audrey Hepburn piece was a beaut!

Hopefully that doesn't sound like an argument haha!

Unfortunately if the outfit are already made she might have already made an abundance of them therefore changing them would be impossible.

I also am amazed by Lee's work but I respect how Denny gives us WIP's in the process, but as we all know that has backfired and pissed off Denny.

I feel Lee is more of an artists interpretation then extreme accuracy designer. He has released figures in the past without accuracy, Plainview's hat color, Bill the Butcher dandy vest, notches the bludgeoning mace etc. Even with these changes not being made he will still sell an exuberant amount, just because he's Rainman. There are a lot of collectors that buy his figures that aren't on SSF. It would be nice if we had a Korean/English speaker that was a middleman for him who could post on the forums for him.

Anyone know what Danny's wearing? I'm assuming it's the dungarees and jumper...

It's going to be tough making those clothes. The twins have an Tiffany blue lacy dress that will be interesting to see what Yunsil does with it as well. So much left to see.

I'm thinking the overalls outfit. But the hoody outfit is more in line with the twins scene.

My personal view - so long they don't get the big stuff off / wrong I will be fairly happy. Honestly masterpieces like bill v2 which to me is stunning and while there was a lot of noise about the lapels etc which were fixed for me too -I was more let down at the red over coat which was very very sub par for a creator like rainman / yunsil. I would rather have him focus on color/ material / sculpt feature accuracy (unlike bickle) and several of those aspects and once they are perfectly nailed out I would worry about other minor details. That's why the only wip photos that ever excite me are of garments, sculpt etc rest of the things while should be perfect can be lived without (great to have) but can be lived without. However of the 12 customs I have usually the bigger errors piss me off - v2 coat, bickle likeness, iminine bride that gaping hole between sculpt and neck and the spaghetti katana (non upgrade one) but the one it came with as stad stuff

Anyways will wait to see what it shapes up like.

I will give my opinion on some of those things that I think people often don't know or understand.
The likeness issue people often complain about when it comes to heads can at times be over simplified. As a viewer it can be easy to say this part is off. Or this needs to be corrected. There are some amazing sculptors here and in this hobby and all of them can be hit or miss on likeness. Depends on the lighting, angle and many other factors. People often attribute the lack of correction to the sculptors interest when I would guess its more about skill and concern to not mess it up trying to change something.
In regards to the clothing. There is only a finite supply of fabric that will work in this scale especially if its the custom market. It's not like painting where you can just mix a different color. And this scale doesn't lend itself to what the fashion industrial wants so the fact that some of these amazing tailors can offer what they do still baffles me. Unless you live in one of the coast cities, its ****ing hard to find stuff that will work. My guess is they are using what they feel will be the best scale fabric first and then getting the color second. If you look at the amateur customs you will often see this in reverse. Color then scale. And it shows in the quality.
There is never going to be a perfect representation in any thing. I often change the scale in props because sometimes when they are done by the math, they look odd. So I take liberties to make them look "right."
Just an opinion.

Waiting on the full reveal. This is starting to feel like it's going to be a 2-part release with Jack orders rolling out first and then a seperate release of Danny with the twins a few weeks or so after.

That's fine by me, gives me time to get cash for potentially danny and the twins

Rainmans new project: Overlook Caretaker

Two part release makes sense with the trike numbers being passed around. Maybe twins and Danny will be sold like Lucy. [emoji482]
