100% agree with ya mike, this is the way to go.

Im also confused where people are getting this "more accessories = worse sculpt" statement from. The two things aren't related in any way lol

watched "Room 237" on Netflix the other day. A really interesting documentary on the shining and lots of hidden imagery, different film historians interpretations of what the film means etc are examined. Really makes you look at the film in different ways. There are a few kookey interpretations but overall a worthy watch

Aaannnnnndddddd watching this now. Thanks fellas :duff

Yeah, I was watching that documentary a few weeks ago, as well. Some of that stuff seems totally off the wall, but with a guy like Kubrick, you just don't know. I'm sure that he did some of that stuff intentionally, possibly just to stir up debate.

I get the emphasis on he sculpt and I'm sure we all share that concern equally. We are all hoping for a great likeness and the proper grittiness in both the raw sculpt and paint. More or less accessories wont change that. Accessories are his forte and we've seen him post WIP pics with inhumanly fast progression. He does kilker accessories in his sleep

I'm not familiar with that documentary. Sounds interesting, I'll try to catch it tonight

I didn't get round to it. I have watched this film a number of times over the last 10 years though :)

Oh, I thought you meant you've never seen it. I was gonna say time's a-wastin'!!

Yeah, Room 237 was pretty interesting. At times I thought "that's an interesting way to see it", or "oh, that's pretty cool, I never realized that". Then the moon stuff came up and I just kept saying "Really?", and when Danny's sweater was talked about, I kind of bailed.

yep the moon stuff is what lost me too, everything before that offers up some cool food for thought though

Ooooh baby! I'm excited and nervous equally for this one. I'm so pumped that this is finally happening but I hope he can bring that gritty edge like Bill and Anton has and not make the sculpt too soft.

For the sculpts I'd say a crazed, teeth showing, here's Johnny-esq look is a given; I think a good counterpart to that would be something like the pic in the first post. Something with a slight smirk and a little dazed out. So one mildly whacky portrait and one off the chains, stark raving mad :google

Completely agree on the sculpts. I love the look from the photo on the first page, that is his appearance for most of the movie.

I'm not necessarily going to get a DX but the trike as an option would just be so sweet and unique.

I thought Room 237 was pretty ridiculous, there are some genuinely interesting theories on the shining but that documentary seemed to focus 90% of the time on the down right crazy ones that were clearly just people trying to see things that weren't really there.

Yeah, I completely agree. It was cool in the concept but just was convoluted and lacked focus.

I got half way thru it last night and koncked out around the moon theory... which was possibly the most far-fetched conspiracy theory I've ever heard! There were a few interesting ideas here and there before that but others seemed like the products of very broad imaginations. I'm gonna finish it up tonight though.

That's a good one and there are other good reference shots to choose from as well. I think Snyderman was on the right track with their two versions, but they made the neutral look a bit too neutral. I think one mildly crazy (before Wendy whacks him) and one bat s__t nutty (after Wendy whacks him so there's a blood trickle) would cover the character perfectly.

I just checked into a hotel in London and horror: room number 237.... Damn can't go to the bathroom without worrying about the old lady! ...

I've been trapped at home, sick, for almost a whole week. Icy weather has closed schools, daycare, and work.

I'd sell my ******* soul for a glass of beer.

Ut-oh. That's how it starts. Cabin fever :horror

If I lived any closer I'd drop you off that beer :duff

Being sick sucks but it's a phenomenal excuse to lay back and watch flick, after flick, after flick....

Haha I agree which leads me to.... DAMN YOU FOR THIS BUMP! Thought it was an update haha

 :bunnydanc

Jeez.... where's all the talk of expressions, accessories, arguing over a DX or not :lol. For a highly anticipated character, this is the slowest RM thread ever
