Re: Rainmans New Project: 'No Country Killer'

How was it boring for you? It literally had me on the edge of my sit the whole time. I feel like I was in the scene with the character when all the action was goin down :horror:panic:

I'm very entertained by this movie, and I must say it is probably amongst the top 10 best movie on my list. But that said, I dont think I can afford to buy it, this time around.

The movie was very slow moving, but like I said I fell in love with character Anton. He didn't really have me off the edge of my seat as he had me disturbed, in disbelief, and in a state of shock; which I found awesome!

I'll have to watch it again its been a while.

Re: Rainmans New Project: 'No Country Killer'

On a side note.

No way in hell Wonka sold for 600!!

Bullet and I were both checking the F/S for months.

Didn't see a Pee Wee for sale (except mine and that was for $900 dollars)

Only Doc I saw around $500 was a HS and clothing set.

Can't wait for this figure!!

Re: Rainmans New Project: 'No Country Killer'

This is another one of those movies I didn't entirely like, because of the pace of the movie. Very boring at times,

Army, check the movie again. Of course it's not special effects, Avengers fast. It's a drama and it's intense as hell. It's a work of art almost as good as TWBB :wink1:

And I don't know where these discount Rainman prices are coming from but someone point me in the right direction! Doc/Tombstone is not even my character/movie and you show me one for $500 and I'm on it bro. And last I heard, someone was saying that they were offered $2000 for their Wonka DX and wasn't jumping at the offer.

Yeah, the way this movie builds conflict and tension is absolutely top notch. I definitely did not feel it was boring or slow-paced at all. The scenes with TLJ were kind of tension relievers, but even they served the purpose of helping to maintain viewer attention IMO.

Re: Rainmans New Project: 'No Country Killer'

Yis sir. And I especially love the way there was no background music(or very little, I need a refresher). That actually intensified it for me instead of slowing it down.

I fully understand where everyone is coming from. You can try to convince me all you want but it is not my style of movie. TWBB, GONY, NCFOM are all films that I enjoyed, but its just not a movie I can come home to after a long day at work, pop in and watch. I can appreciate the characters in the movie, but the movie as a whole is not my cup of tea.

I know some members are always at the ready to throw their insults when someone makes a statement like this. I'll accept that I don't have the mental capacity for these types of films :rotfl.

Yeah man point me to the Rainman Discount Section Thread. I'll take a Wonka DX, an Eagle Eye and those three Western guys from that movie GBU. I heard there was a half-off sale if you buy all of them together. :)

Anways GB are in!! :panic:
Pics soon!

Re: Rainmans New Project: 'No Country Killer'

There's definitely a time and place for watching different kinds of movies. I'm not always in the mood to pop in an Ingmar Bergman movie or whatever. And even though I don't think it is boring, I do think you have to sit down and invest a bit of energy into watching a movie like "No Country." Sometimes I don't feel like doing that, and would rather watch Office Space or Aliens or whatever.

Re: Rainmans New Project: 'No Country Killer'

Nice bro! Gotta see those GB dudes. Now all we need is a 1/6 Zuul, Gozer & Slimer and we're set! :lol

Yea was googling around and couldn't find the 35% off MSRP Rainman coupons. If anyone has a link.....

Re: Rainmans New Project: 'No Country Killer'

Just finished watching it, after a long time. What powerful performance(s)!

An instance: A short scene and not a big deal for fine actors, but without actually strangling somebody with your complete force, and to get this typical crazy expression, Wow! Hope Zach Hopkins actually didn't die in that scene :lol

Re: Rainmans New Project: 'No Country Killer'

the first time i saw this movie i wasn't wowed by it, maybe like army. but i was in a room full of idiots and i wasn't paying attention. i gave it another go about 6 months ago... felt like a completely different film. i don't think i even saw the ending the first time! :lol

personally, i think that's a sign of a great movie. one that grows with you. i had similar experiences with blade runner, rocky and taxi driver. now they get better each time i watch them. especially rocky. the more life i live the more i appreciate that beaut of a film.

i just hope i have some dough before anton comes around.

Like I said I love Anton and his character really has stuck with me. I am overdue to watch this movie again, but finding the right time is tough.

Indeed 8th, fine wine. Gets better every time :lecture

Speaking of wine, the winery in front of my house is starting to produce grapes. :)

Love when that happens. The Big Lebowski has been a tough sell for me like that when telling people about it. They're like ahhh I just dont get it, its ok. I have to tell them its definitely a flick that gets better with every viewing. No Country is the same for some. Hell I never even noticed on the first viewing that the flick had no music.

With all that said, BRING ON ANTON RAINMAN!!!! :panic:
