I'm happy for those who really want this figure, but I personally don't see the allure.

Congrats guys!

Orri man you've lost your DAMN mind man :cuckoo:

Making it on Beto's first wave of Beetlejuice has gone to your head :lol

You just have to watch the movie again. This is one bad Mofo

Re: Rainmans New Project: 'No Country Killer'

I guess you just have to pick and choose for characters that you really want. Rainman's stuff is awesome, but it sure ain't cheap!

Re: Rainmans New Project: 'No Country Killer'

Anton isn't for everyone. That's what makes the customs side of collecting great. Everyone gets to pick and choose these unique characters and our collections don't clash with each other, like many standard Hottoys collections, even though a few Hottoys peices add a good balance.

As a figure, forgetting the source material, I'm kinda with you. He's about as boring looking a character as you are gonna run across. But the performance was great, and the biggest incentive from my POV is that he was from a great Coen Brothers film. Not many high end figures out there that meet that criteria.

I am not sure I agree with you Sam. I think on the shelf like the picture below he is going to look killer!

i'm still on the fence about this one which is surprising me cuz i love the movie but there are just some other sixths i want more and like most of you i've been spending a bit too much recently.
but i'll reserve my judgement for when i see the figure. i'm kind of expecting it will look too good to pass up and i will have to try to sell a kidney.

Take the accessory away, and he's just some guy dressed in earth toned clothing (or leave that accessory, and to someone unfamiliar with the film they might think he is a car repair attendant or something). In fact, I'm sure that was intentional, so he could be this cold blooded psychopath who walks among everyone else without arousing suspicion.

Yes but he will come with that accessory making him awesome! :lol

Re: Rainmans New Project: 'No Country Killer'

Well I'm just saying that he doesn't "pop" on the shelf, and there's no way of getting him to do so. But then, there are a number of collectors who aren't interested in such a thing (many of them Rainman collectors) so it probably isn't a major issue. I can just see why others may have some reservations.

Now, would Al Bundy look any more exciting? Not so sure :lol

Re: Rainmans New Project: 'No Country Killer'

I'm so glad I get to scratch this one off of my most wanted list. I hope Rainman really seals the deal on this one! Fingers crossed!

One of my fave films but I too have strong reservations on whether I will purchase this for the reasons you've mentioned.

Re: Rainmans New Project: 'No Country Killer'

We all had the same convo a few times before. Everyone collects with their own personal method to the madness. Shelf poppers to many people mean the pimp suit(credit to Woffard for that analogy/term. That's some funny s__t :D ). To me it's the character itself that "pops" regardless of style or color of their outfit.

I just want a figure(s) to rep all of my favorite movies. That's just my own personal approach to collecting. There's probably 8-9 movies that I love and want figs from, and it's basically dudes in black suits/outfits. Others are different. Thank God there's something for everyone :)

And that's why BP decided to do Anton. They know that there's a big enough market for him. And he even out sold Tyler by far who is way more colorful. There are always Tyler's available on eBay for around $175. The few times an Anton is up, he's fetching more than $300.

Re: Rainmans New Project: 'No Country Killer'

In fairness, that Brothers Anton had a decent head sculpt. Their Tyler. . .not so much. And that matters a lot when you're talking 12" dollies.

Re: Rainmans New Project: 'No Country Killer'

yeah the BP Tyler wasnt so hot. have never seen an anton for sale though

Re: Rainmans New Project: 'No Country Killer'

That Brothers Production Anton was the only figure I considered getting from that company, but then I said nahhhh.. I knew the day would come when this would be made at the highest possible standard of quality.

Plus BP totally ripped off and copied CRM toys.
